Gorlak Verified Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I'm actually far more concerned only 1 starter is projected above 2 WAR and only 2 relievers are projected as above league average.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 This thread is going to be a goldmine when the Jays miss the playoffs by a couple of wins and Sanchez tanks his value with a replacement level season.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Any more recommendations for tv shows to watch? This thread was doing so well and is now turning to s***. I'm on episode 4 for GOT. Lot's of boobs and blood...i'm entertained.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Dickey and Buehrle defense need to be considered. Puts them around 2 WAR. We're golden then, false alarm.

Or you will look totally lost after the Blue Jays wins the world series. Even better would be that Travis rakes up in the WS and gets the WS MVP
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I honestly believe the Rays would ask for Hutchison from the Jays. Rays have shown time and time again that they will chase players that will remain relatively cost controlled through arbitration. They will get someone like him somewhere.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 This thread is going to be a goldmine when the Jays miss the playoffs by a couple of wins and Sanchez tanks his value with a replacement level season. But the injuries...Jays have the worst luck

I like how you're setting yourself up here. Nobody will call you out if Zobrist falls off a cliff, or if Sanchez rounds into a great young starter...
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Sanchez for Zobrist. Put Estrada in the rotation, Redmond as the long man, and Norris as the 1st call up. Can't thank so +1000000
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Vikings. Vikings? What's that.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Zobrist for Sanchez = #1 offense, bottom 3rd pitching
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 First of all, I'd rather have Kawasaki because he is cheaper, plays an inspired game, has some contact skills and decent defensively. Also, he has a positive impact on the humor of the players. Second of all, Osuna is a young, cost controllable pitcher, who is 15 years younger than Mr Overrated AKA Ben Zobrist who has all to be a top pitcher at his prime Reported
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I like how you're setting yourself up here. Nobody will call you out if Zobrist falls off a cliff, or if Sanchez rounds into a great young starter... Everyone is wrong sometimes. The fact remains that Zobrist is probably a 4 win player next year, the Jays as they're currently assembled probably don't make it past the WC game, and Sanchez is probably replacement-level. Any one of those could not happen, but all three are likely to be true.

MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Replacement level????? The dude was one of the best reliever in the league pretty much at the end of the year

Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Vikings? What's that. It's a show on History Channel (yes they actually made a good show). It's about Ragnar Lothbrok a Vikings hero who has aspirations to travel west by sea to discover and conquer other lands such as England. I don't want to give too much away, but it's one of my favourite shows.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Replacement level????? The dude was one of the best reliever in the league pretty much at the end of the year There's a variety of factors. First of all, small sample size, he suddenly learned how to throw strikes but it's been said that he didn't really change much in his motion so he might revert back to his minor league walk rates, against much better hitters obviously which could be trouble. Despite his great stuff, his rate of inducing swinging strikes was very poor, and this was as a reliever, if he can barely get guys swinging-and-missing now then he will suffer as a starter as his stuff inevitably downplays in longer stints. Back to his stuff, he clearly has plus pitches, but the team completely gave up on him using his secondary pitches near the end of the season, whether this was a result of Navarro not being able to handle it, I don't know, but it's concerning if he's literally a fastball/sinker only guy.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Will i get to see boobs and blood? Lots of blood, but they don't show boobs since its history channel. Ragnar's wife is super hot though. Worth the watch IMO. I've had episodes I've liked better than some from GoT. It's one of the most unknown shows out there simply because it's history channel. The third season is coming out in Feb.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 What's Sanchez floor? I can't see him being worse than a J.A. Happ 5th starter type. Isn't several years of cost controlled J.A. Happ > 1 year of Zobrist + a pick?
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 you don't consider the countless pawn shop shows, hillbillies restoring old motorcycles, and aliens in egypt to be good programming? Quality programming right there. But in all seriousness, it's a trend many channels are following in order to stay relevant.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Why are people talking baseball in the TV show thread? Weird.

King Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 His mean projection is below replacement right now, so his floor would be complete terrible gascan. As for the 2nd part. Zobrist + Pick > 6 years of J.A. Happ. Or this too. Indy ball!
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Will i get to see boobs and blood? If you want boobs and blood, Banshee is the show for you.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Floor is a mediocre reliever Floor is Kyle Drabek.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Floor is a mediocre reliever so that's his floor and his ceiling is an ace if he can get it together a la Chris Carpenter depends on AA's talent evaluators and the budget what happens with him then
