Nox Verified Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Look beyond the stats. This could be an excellent buy low for the Mariners. I'm a believer in Viciedo's potential and a change in scenery might help his terrible approach at the plate. Just back from my look beyond the stats. Here's my report: Found a fat, lazy no-D guy who just got shipped to the worst park possible for his skill set. Doesn't look good. Would not acquire.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 They aren't winning anything anytime soon. And with that ballpark you can attract the guys trying to re-establish their value and get similar production for a fraction of the price without the risk of a long term deal. This has been brought up 100 times. If they like him at the price, why not sign him? I don't understand the mentality of "we probably suck so let's not try to improve our team at all." Guys trying to re-establish their value (Masterson) are a way bigger risk than Santana.
King Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Hughes, Nolasco, Gibson, Milone, May, Meyer? Not a great rotation.. not a single ace in that staff. Santana, Hughes, Nolasco, Gibson/May/Milone.. Meyer and Berrios could be in the rotation soon as well. Santana/Hughes/Nolasco/Meyer/Berrios could be a good rotation.

Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Wow. Went to a crazy f***ing concert last night, and just woke up today ..... There has literally been close to 20 moves since I last f***ing checked. Insane 24 hours. Jays do absolutely nothing though and now a bunch of silly reports of Canadian dollar and payroll parameters in our faces again. f***ing Rogers.

I don't understand why people are mad the Jays haven't done any transactions at the WM. This team has been completely changed already, with small acquisitions coming for the bullpen, 2B, and potentially another SP. Lots of offseason left, I'm sure AA laid out the groundwork for future signings or trades.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 So it looks the Reds are going to go for some sort of rebuild right now ..... What happent to Votto? Chapman and Bruce are very likely to be dealt now. Cueto could get them a massive return as well, especially from a team like the Red Sox

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Santana, Hughes, Nolasco, Gibson/May/Milone.. Meyer and Berrios could be in the rotation soon as well. Santana/Hughes/Nolasco/Meyer/Berrios could be a good rotation. Meyer is gonna be great. He walks a lot of guys just to give the next batter a false sense of security imo. Kershaw ceiling.
King Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 I was just being sarcastic. It is what it is. It wasn't more of an in general comment. Even if you were being sarcastic, there are quite a few other people who are genuinely upset the Jays didn't make a move the past few days.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Fangraphs was not kind to Porcello, projecting a 4.15 ERA with the Red Sox, and Masterson with a 4.11 ERA(actually, the rotation, pending the Wade Miley trade, doesn't project well.) Better hope HanRam and Sandoval hit and stay healthy, along with Pedroia and Ortiz. http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=ALL&teamid=3 When I said they needed pitching, I was meaning like Jon Lester and Cole Hamels.. not a bunch of mid-to-back end rotation arms.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Jays already made their moves with Donaldson, Saunders and Martin. I imagine they're just waiting for the trade and free agent market to cool down.. many of the teams are demanding high prices for arms.

Im too focused on the Seahawks and Raptors right now to really get worked up about what the Blue Jays are or aren't doing. The Canadian dollar payroll s*** I read this morning is kinda silly though haha! Will be interesting to see how things shake out from here. A lot of interesting names now off the board.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Im really intrigued with the Reds though. Are they going for a rebuild or were they just at max salary and had to shed some money to add some guys.

He's lucky if it's twice a week.

Dont get me wrong, I'd gladly bang her but not sure she deserves this much praise Maybe it's because she doesn't dress like a ho so you can't imagine? Sarah Silverman's face is distorted and she has weird nose. Jason Frasors wife looks like a brunette angel... like a delicately aged fine wine. Also, even Sarah Silverman is not bad.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 I think she's an 8/10 7,5/10
