o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I'm pretty sure that there are players who will be glad they dont have to deal with rage boy in the dugout and clubhouse.
King Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Deiferson Barreto Yup, chunky kid
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I was supposed to be playing Dragon Age tonight. Now I can't, too excited and have to read/listen to all reactions.
Caper Verified Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Barreto COULD be the best of them all. But for an 18 year old... that's a huge IF.
Caper Verified Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Jeff Blair on right now!! I bet he had to look Josh Donaldson too.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Barreto COULD be the best of them all. But for an 18 year old... that's a huge IF. You're right, the chances of banking on an 18 year old reaching 6+ WAR seasons at a valuable position like 3B and not flopping is very slim
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Barreto COULD be the best of them all. But for an 18 year old... that's a huge IF. Lol no. Unless you assume that every prospect has the ceiling of a superstar.
Statman Verified Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Not only is AA winning dat WAR, he is improving dat team chemistry without having Lind, Gose and Lawrie in the clubhouse.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Beane said the key to this deal is Barreto. barreto may very well turn out 4 years from now, but the Yankees have a 200+ million dollar payroll for a crappy lineup. In 4 years they may have a 200+ million dollar payroll of good players. We got 4 years of Donaldson for 3 years of Lawrie. Nolin and Graveman may turn out, but with Norris, Sanchez, stroman, Hoffman and hutch we could afford to give up pitching. The A's are going to have a much harder time competing this year. They gave up the farm to go for it last year and it didn't work out. They had to rebuild the farm and now we are making a push to go for it this year. We're still a couple pieces away. Should be interesting to see what moves we make next.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 See, lawrie would go out for the season in his first leap. That's my problem with him You haven't watched Donaldson play a lot have you. He's just as max effort as Lawrie. He's just so much slower that you don't notice it. He was hurt in September and the A's had to lasso him a bit so not to aggravate the injury.
King Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 lol Ian Hunter @BlueJayHunter 2m2 minutes ago For what it's worth, Ricky Romero is the only surviving member of Team Unit on the Blue Jays roster.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 welcome back kid... glad you made it through your therapy. hope things are better... lol Glad to be back lol You haven't watched Donaldson play a lot have you. I've watched Donaldson a lot (A's are my 2nd favorite team) my post is saying that Lawrie will probably have a big injury after leaping for a ball in Oakland's huge foul territory. Basically I'm saying Lawrie = Glass
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Author Posted November 29, 2014 Billy Beane said Brett Lawrie is just 23 at his press meeting. He's turning 25.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Billy Beane said Brett Lawrie is just 23 at his press meeting. He's turning 25. ..... wat Watch him freak out knowing he's been going on an old scouting report or something LOL

Caper Verified Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Funny Navarro wasn't in this deal.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Just came out of the movies. Wtf just happened!
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Funny Navarro wasn't in this deal. He doesn't HAVE to be dealt, it's nice having solid backup Although I would like to see him dealt in a package for an OF/2B or just for a reliever or something
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Just came out of the movies. Wtf just happened! Billie Bean got bent over by AA
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Howard got 10 as the highest ever. Trout will obviously shatter that. Here are the criteria for determining arbitration payouts as laid down by MLB's collective bargaining agreement: The quality of the player's most recent season The length and consistency of the player's career contribution The record of the player's past compensation Comparative baseball salaries The existence of any physical or mental defects The recent performance record of the player's club $7.5 seems to make sense. I don't think it will be an issue. I see a 5 year deal being announced. A 5 year deal would be good. Do you know Trout sign a long term deal...?

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Also, f***... Did not see this coming and the typical "I liked the players we have up" caveat notwithstanding, f*** I love this deal.
