Nox Verified Member Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 So, your distinction as to whether or not it's acceptable to be a narcissistic self-branding douche is that other people in your field feel you're worthy of being a narcissistic self-branding douche? Nope. Just that if you choose to be arrogant you should at least have a little something to back it up with. He, being the prototype failed hipster, falls more than a bit short of that.
Nox Verified Member Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Time to start Moogy.com Too late. http://moogy.com/ Unless that's the beginning of what you had in mind.
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I'm thankful I have you to do the due diligence in procuring a domain name. I think you finally found your niche. Something you can not only profess to know about, but actually complete competently, for a change. Typing names of websites into a browser. Foxy Noxy took a gander at this in celebrating his success ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIQn8pab8Vc Something is seriously wrong with you. And there's no retort in the world that can't truly disprove that.
nmrch Verified Member Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Man, some of you are bitter, i swear i literally don't see a thing wrong with Stoeten using his name for his website. Its very common for unaffiliated bloggers who have a following, this happens in many areas like politics, sports, entertainment, fashion etc etc. And say what you will, he does have a following, he's getting a 50-125 comments per article and he just started out, i don't know if you guys realize how hard it is to get those kind of numbers especially in a saturated market like sports.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I make sure I never cross paths with my http://kevinhurley.com/ site and my baseball blogging. Could hurt my career
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Today in Andrew Stoeten news: Andrew Stoeten is now an esteemed writer for the National Post... http://sports.nationalpost.com/2014/12/12/toronto-blue-jays-have-made-big-strides-this-off-season-but-so-have-their-competitors/ However it seems some new poster BlueJaysCC is claiming Andrew Stoeten abused him and kicked him off the Andrew Stoeten forum. Stay tuned... this could be bigger then the Bill Cosby thing. If Andrew Stoeten is truly abusing innocent posters then the National Post will have no choice but to terminate his employment.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Well, might as well go into journalism now. I've been told I'm decent at writing and if Cotillo and Stoeten can get this far, why not.

Nice way to fall on your feet. He should rehearse his answers more before he does those little videos. He gets the questions via Twitter so there's no reason for him not to hash out what he's going to say and by extension provide better answers but I don't really want to give him more s*** than he already gets. Good for him for leveraging his name recognition into a new gig.

ace3113 Verified Member Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 The byline being qualified with the words "Special to" usually means it's a stringer article and not staff. Something someone sent in unsolicited that the editor thought worthy of printing. These articles usually do not entail payment. Getting a byline in a major paper is usually payment enough. I have a friend who works at the Post though, so I'll ask them if he's actually working for the publication.

It wasn't so much him abusing me as it was others on the forum abusing me but he still allowed to go on and he probably thought it was funny which explains why he didn't do anything and then when, I tried to stick up for myself he kicked me and refered to me as a troll. Sorry about the confusion should have been more direct.

I think he said on twitter that he's doing semi-regular things for the post... weekly or fortnightly.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 and you could use it. No one likes a fat giant kid But everyone likes a fat Jewish kid.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I think he said on twitter that he's doing semi-regular things for the post... weekly or fortnightly. Your word of the day, kiddies!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 But everyone likes a fat Jewish kid. Wait, you went to St. Andrews, and you're JEWISH? f*** man, there was only an 84% chance of that combination...
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 But everyone likes a fat Jewish kid. Not until their comedy career starts but i got to admit when I worked at the camp for special needs kids it was always the fat jewish kids that got to me.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Wait, you went to St. Andrews, and you're JEWISH? f*** man, there was only an 84% chance of that combination... Sorry, what's a St. Andrew's? Might have had something similar to that lobotomized.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Your word of the day, kiddies! I refuse to use the word biweekly due to gross ambiguity: bi·week·ly bīˈwēklē adjective & adverb 1. appearing or taking place every two weeks or twice a week. I mean, c'mon English.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I refuse to use the word biweekly due to gross ambiguity: I mean, c'mon English. I was not joking at all when I was suggesting that that was a great word. I was just calling attention to it.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Dean Blundell linked this thread on twitter to trash Stoeten, apparently. Let it be known that everyone here thinks Blundell is a garbage clown.

Caper Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 What's Dean Blundell's issue with Stoeten? Stoeten started it. Made fun of DB on twitter. Forget about what though, might have been legit.
Caper Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Stoeten is a clown too, bro. Smug 'journalist' who thinks he's Stephen Brunt when he's actually Mike Wilner I like Wilner. Stoeten is pretty good, but move out of the realm of baseball and his SJW ******** gets a little tiresome.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Stoeten is a clown too, bro. Smug 'journalist' who thinks he's Stephen Brunt when he's actually Mike Wilner No, because Stoeten actually knows what the f*** he's talking about and is a gifted writer. Their only commonality is smugness.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Who is Dean Blundell? Wtf is he using this site to trash Stoeten for? LOL!
