BTS Community Moderator Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 That would have been sweet. Well yeah. Neil Walker would have been cool too. Both are pretty embarassing to ask for though.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Lind is a great weapon if you use it in the correct way.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Well yeah. Neil Walker would have been cool too. Both are pretty embarassing to ask for though. Honestly, since we found out that Jeff Luhnow wanted Giolito for Lucas Harrell, it's been hard for me to see any trade ask as embarrassing. Maybe AA thought there was a chance the Orioles didn't value Pierce properly.
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Lind and Pearce would probably rake as a 1B platoon, and Pearce could play LF against RHP. I would've asked for Chris Davis, lol. But, Toronto was looking for a cheaper player so that would've been a no-go...

LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 What a dumb f*** idea, O's would never do this plus Pearce doesn't even want to play in TO

Anyway, this likely shows that AA did try to get more than Estrada for Lind.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 What a dumb f*** idea, O's would never do this plus Pearce doesn't even want to play in TO Wut? They valued him so much that they waived him. Just like the Jays did with Lind in 2012. Plus, he would've had no choice but to play in TO, but you're probably trolling so good job.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 s***, that would've been a nice pick up by AA last April, but it wasn't meant to be. On the other hand, O's should probably be selling high on him, unless they think 2014 was the real Steve Pearce. Anyway...
flafson Verified Member Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I'm amazed at how cheaply AA valued Lind.

With someone's head in a noose in Oakland and someone else's head almost in a noose here. Can't be complaining about the minnow that got away when we had the big fish slip out of the boat here but managed to reel him back in somehow.
