burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Apparently has died in a car accident in the DR. Just awful news.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Just heard. Terrible news, wondering how they handle it on the broadcast tonight
ace3113 Verified Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 So tragic. He had his entire life ahead of him. Condolences to his friends and family. R.I.P. Oscar.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Terrible news to hear, especially for the Cardinals organization, who was expecting him to be the everyday RF next year. Now they'll have to seek an OF in free agency or give Grichuk or Piscotty the job.. he was a #1 prospect for the Cardinals. This is awful news for the Cardinals organization, especially when he was expected to be a major piece of the team in 2015.
nmrch Verified Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 STFU RETARD!!! cf i've seen people on social media lamenting over how this effects their s***** dynasty team, and how they just traded for him, just unbelievable
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Holy s***, this is terrible news. RIP Oscar - my condolences to all his friends and family.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Wow, shocking. Don't even know what to say.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 It's terrifying that I was reading up on him a few hours ago for something as insignificant as fantasy ball and now he's gone. I just saw him this summer and was so excited about it. f***ing awful. Can't even process this. Thoughts to his family.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Crazy to think that if the Cards made the World Series, he'd be alive right now...
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 His girlfriend apparently died in the crash as well. Just a sad situation all around.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 This accident brings back bad memories of Josh Hancock and Nick Adenhart, who were also killed in car accidents.. and Cardinals fans have also seen Daryl Kile pass (heart attack), along with Hancock. Condolences to the Taveras family, the Cardinals organization.. it's awful to see this happen.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 just saw the terrible news, wow.. RIP

GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Yeah, I was just looking him up on Fangraphs today. Just feels weird now. Holy s***. I was thinking "I'll probably reach on him in LOD, I really like him." He's not even that much older than me or North or King.

kgm1 Verified Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Such a huge talent killed just when he was about to shine. I drafted him 4 years ago and had watched him grow into the top talent he was. It is always sad to hear of great talents dying so young.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Crazy to think that if the Cards made the World Series, he'd be alive right now... No fair bro, no fair right now.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Life is so precious and valuable. Man, I still can't believe it - he was only 22. That's why you have to cherish everyday you wake up in the morning and be thankful. Such a tragedy for OT and his girlfriend - life isn't fair.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 This is just sad. For baseball fans for sure, worse for those in the DR, worse yet for the family. Sad.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 That is so sad. I feel bad for his parents back home not to mention the girl's family. RIP
