JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I guess they realized their offense suffered a bit too much after the Lester trade. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/chi-adam-dunn-trade-talks-20140831-story.html
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Panick move? No world series this year for Oakland? LAA handling them pretty well lately.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Does Oakland know Adam.Dunn doesn't like baseball
baseballsss Verified Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 While Dunns only 34 he announced he will be retiring after the season is over. Good for him knowing when to call it quits.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Not confirmed? http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/24689627/adam-dunn-likely-to-retire-after-2014-season
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 He never liked baseball, so I could see why he's retiring early.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 On a more serious notes, we've seen sluggers like Adam Dunn never age well in baseball.
Slider Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 They definitely needed to add another bat to that line up.

LOL He made *112 MILLLION* dollars playing a game he purportedly doesn't even like. And can retire at age 35 with decades of the good life in front of him. Why not?

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Plus he already was on a World Series winning team right? One more post season run with Oakland and hang it up. Why not
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Plus he already was on a World Series winning team right? Nope never.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I can't believe people thought their offense would be fine without Cespedes. Running a bunch of platoon players in the outfield to replace a 3 WAR bat with power is not the answer, especially when the lineup lacks power to begin with. Good to see Beane realizing it before it was too late.
