Gibby was challenged by Shi Davidi last night to come up with a different lineup so this must be Gibby's response. It's odd. They are also keeping Rasmus out of the lineup as well.

His poor offense and declining defense in CF aren't helping. At this point, Pillar/Gose are better options than him, with Pompey on the way next season.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 The next time Rogers increases payroll and decides to go for it, Gibbons better not be the manager. It happened in 2006-08 and 2012-13. Gibbons just happens to be around every time hype turns into disappointment.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Kawasaki 2nd and Edwin 6th. Yeah, f*** it, fire Gibby.

Well he's had a pretty unfortunate job: inheriting a team hyped as a WS contender, but that didn't have the payroll (2006-08) or front office competence (2012-13) to actually make noise. Guy stood no chance.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 who the hell cares. They have to go on a huge run to make the playoffs. It's not like any other way was working for them

comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Is he in control of the lineup or is someone else? Makes you wonder what kind of baseball mind/manager would think that lineup is a good idea, and best one to win ballgames. Fridays lineup was the correct one,and should continue with that. He is driving all of us nuts with his decisions. It,s real simple. you can either leadoff with Melky or Reyes followed by Bautista,EE,Lind or Navarro switch hitter, then fill in the blanks. Try then to add speed to the bottom of the order as much as you can. With no good consistency on defense, you need all the speed you can get,and make the other teams sweat with the speed. This combo was why we were in first place, and had that 23-10 stretch. Fire him! He doesn,t have that kill kill instinct of burying your opponent. He,s a nice man.

They are better off anytime they can sit both Colby, and Fransisco, and maybe only use them as PH.They are bad both on offense, and defense, with occassional good moments. This team has had good enough pitching if the offense would wake up. EE is not ready to carry the team like he was earlier, but the rest of the guys not producing more,is disappointing.
