JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I think he's going to hang on to his prospects, unless the right trade is presented. Personally, i'd throw a 3/30 offer in JJ Hardy's direction and move Reyes to 2B. That's not a horrible contract and he still has something left in the tank. At this point I'd take anyone who can consistently field the position, make the routine plays, and not look stupid at times. Any offensive help would be a bonus. It seems like AA might have to try and sign some guys because like you said he might hang onto what's left of the prospects. Right, can't miss deal, fine but with the lack of depth, the fact that if what's left are traded, we have a barren farm that will kill the team for a few years.
rolliesmustache Verified Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 It's hard to believe there are other shortstops with more errors than Reyes this season.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Reyes cannot play a MLB SS anymore.

I think JJ Hardy would shore up the infield on both sides of the ball quit nicely and not cost major money or prospects. He's a solid baseball player with a high baseball IQ.

Especially after watching whatever the hell Reyes did right there we need someone who knows what they're doing and can do the fundamentals. He should be able to help the club. Anyone who can help on both sides would be great. He seems to be one who could.

Unfortunately I doubt a sought-after infielder like Hardy is going to pick Toronto's artificial surface over another team with a real ballpark. I'd love him on the Jays though.
