Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Wilner is a moron. Take a plane and get away from your comfort zone just for .............. Goins and Gose?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Yeah I read that yesterday. It actually does make sense. But it's probably not enough of a difference maker to bother at this point.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Good way to piss off Hutch and Stroman.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Good way to piss off Hutch and Stroman. If they are idiots it may.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Love the bait title Herp, nicely played lol. They probably should do this, Mariners just did it with Paxton.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 If they are idiots it may. They lose 3 days of MLB salary, as a player I would be pissed off lol. My guess is the players wouldn't even leave Toronto.

Governator Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Wilner has made a couple of those types of posts this year. I think a move like this would just make an organization look bad playing around the rules.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Burning an option year just to get Goins/Gose up seems like a bad idea.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 There is zero negative about this...and during your 72 hours to report you are paid a major league salary. It's just a way around starting your 40 expansion roster early.

The org could of done this Stroman at the ASB but didn't.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 From the article. If it doesn't cost an option I'd be fine with it but why not just keep them down and playing in AAA as opposed to sitting on the bench in Toronto.

That's a pretty big negative.

Terrible idea.

Terrible idea. aren't Buffalo set to be eliminated? Even if not, Gose should be called up to the big club even if they are in the playoffs. MLB is always the number 1 priority getting Gose's legs up here a couple games early could be big for a team that really should still be trying to make the playoffs. The move would look like this (if Gose and Goins and not an arm were their target) Send Stroman and Hutch to New Hampshire Gose and Goins to Toronto Glenn and Nolan back to Buffalo (or Burns or Crouse...it's a weekend series if you want to call someone up for a matchup for Buffalo you could even do that) Edited August 29, 2014 by TheHurl

Either way having Gose and Goins sit on the bench for the 3 days isn't going to help the Jays very much outside of the odd defensive replacement.
