Also, f*** man, rookies can be good, they don't have to play until they reach free agency, then get signed before they have value. Mike Trout put up a 10 f***ing WAR season in his first full year at ~20. (Yes, I know Travis isn't Trout, but I'm using an extreme example to prove a point... There are many other rookies who have contributed to a competitive team. We have a competitive f***ing team.)

I can understand your concerns, but I have to say, the fact that he "has 1 year at AA", is a good thing. What would you prefer, that he had repeated AA?

 

 

A case can be made that Travis could or should've been promoted to AAA at some point in the past season.

Will cost a fortune if he actually gets posted... And we still don't even know if he can hit in the bigs - If we are gonna drop some fat coin on a 2B why not just chase Lowrie or Asdrubal Cabrera in FA... or hell maybe Arizona could be persuaded to deal Aaron Hill back to us for something around Izturis+.

I'm totally comfortable with Travis as our opening day 2nd basemen but we really need to protect ourselves from a Jose Reyes injury which is why i would like to see Drew signed to a 1 year contract. Drew starts the year at 2nd and thus when Reyes tears his labia he can slide over to SS and Travis can be brought up to play 2nd.

 

It just makes too much sense.
