I'm offended by the use of the word "platoon" in describing anything concerning the Jays' lineup construction this year. Sitting good players with significant splits in favour of scrubs who simply can't hit is not a platoon.

Rasmus should play against lhp given current roster status

This is the worst on-field baseball decision I've seen in my f***ing life. http://i.imgur.com/py2PxcN.gif http://i.imgur.com/py2PxcN.gif http://i.imgur.com/py2PxcN.gif

Gibby also said in same interview that he would LIKE to have Kratz available

Any chance he's trolling the FO a bit??

Using s***** platoon players might be the best way to send a signal to the man in charge. If that's the idea, I kind of love this.

What does it say about this team that the field manager appreciates the value Kratz can bring more than the General Manager seems to?

I'm fine with this. Maybe this will give Rasmus the kick in the ass he needs to get him going. And Lind does suck pretty hard against lefties. In 31 PA, he has 2 hits and 11 SO.

+ maybe it will prompt a Kratz callup if Gillespie is as bad as we expect him to be.

Ya, I'm less happy about the Gillespie part. But atleast we'll have Lind as a PH bat once the lefty comes out, that's gotta be worth something. I'd like to see Reimold start against left handed starters instead of Gillespie though.

It's an embarrassment.

The best you can come up with in a pennant race is Cole Gillespie and Darin Mastroianni? And you had $130MM to spent on players?

Cynic in me says this is sending a message to other GM's there will be no trades right now & jays will ride out this storm however it turns out...

I have no doubt AA & Gibby are on the same page always & Gibby will do whatever storyline needs to be followed.

Reimold will be playing every day though, won't he?

RF Reimold

1B Bautista

DH Lind / Gillespie

CF Rasmus / Mastroianni

3B Francisco

2B Tolleson / Kawasaki

When Bautista is healthier, they can slide him over to third against lefties to take Francisco out of the lineup.

I guess so, not sure what I was thinking of. Once EE is healthy again he'd be a good option to platoon with Lind.

Gillespie probably DFA'd at that point.

AA keeps pulling the same s*** trick out his bags - calling up players who are succeeding statistically in small sample sizes at the minor league level... this formula is pure newbie

Yup... considering we can't blame injuries
