o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 this managers standing around looking stupid waiting for review is getting seriously old fast.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Give me a HR here for the contest Gump lol.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I assume that Stroman will have an innings limit on the season. Should the Jays make the playoffs, it would be nice to have him in the rotation. Which is why leaving him in when the Jays are up 8-1 is totally stupid. If the Jays make the playoffs, he wont be on a limit. And an extra 12 pitches is not going to make a difference.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Disagree completely!!!!!!! The reason why most pitchers get hurt is because they are babied all the time. 110-120 pitches occasionally is perfectly fine to me. Just not a regular occurrence. He was also not showing any signs of being tired. 112 is fine IMO

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 ok, who else thinks this is a really fast game for being a yankees game??? going to be done in a little more than 2.5 hours.

I'd have no problem if the arm was mature and he had thrown 100 pitches in several games, but it hasn't happened. He also threw 90+ pitches in less than 4IP in his previous start. Anyway, agree to disagree!
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 He was also not showing any signs of being tired. 112 is fine IMO add the fact that he had a short outing last game.

I could see them shutting him down early like Washington did with Strasburg. His short stature makes him susceptible to arm injury.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Man this f***ing ad for Gordon Ramsey's show is retarded. 30 seconds of some nutcase screaming. I'll be just chilling, feeling really mellow and then this ad always comes on. WHO WATCHES THIS GARBAGE
S33n Verified Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 add the fact that he had a short outing last game. Yes, more pitches in a shorter period of time, not good.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I could see them shutting him down early like Washington did with Strasburg. His short stature makes him susceptible to arm injury. Stroman isn't coming off tommy john surgery and the short stature thing is a myth.

Anyway, agree to disagree! he's not a little kid who just got out of high school. he pitched for Duke and has more innings under his belt than other rookies. I wouldn't want him doing it every start, but one start like this wont hurt him long term.

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 8-1 and you walk Cervelli to lead the inning, brutal..
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 What a way to get a manager pissed at you. Have a 7 run lead and walk the leadoff guy
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 8-1 and you walk Cervelli to lead the inning, brutal.. wonder if the name Great Gazoo has stuck to Cervelli? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/49/The_Great_Gazoo.png
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 add the fact that he had a short outing last game. And he was on five days rest! Stroman doesn't have a limit. The Strasburg thing isn't the norm, that's why the Nats got so much heck. If you make the playoffs and have a young pitcher in your rotation, you bite the bullet and keep using him. AA has even said he doesn't have a limit. And being on a pitch count will prevent him from exceeding 175 regular season innings anyway.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 And a gift basket! It's only gay if you make eye contact.
