a lot of little league coaches dont know s***. dad's and beer drinking wanna be types that think winning little league game completes their manhood. the anything to win attitude causes a lot of problems. Best kid on the team starts every game.

And then it continues when hey go to college... Same thing done by the NCAA.

the top colleges are usually a lot more protective, but there are definitely a lot of college coaches trying to rid kids to the top. NCAA wins mean huge budgets, donations, league bonuses....

Did you hear about that high schooler that threw 194 pitches over 14 innings?

He wasn't a pro prospect and it was his last game ever. Not an issue.

Kids don't want to do a lot of things. That's why adults, who supposedly know better are supposed to protect them from themselves.

Don't they protect them in little league? I thought the problem were kids pitching a lot on their own time.

I remember Price tweeting him and saying his coach should lose his job, lol

f*** I love watching Stroman pitch

I was looking forward to this year because of the prospects of watching Stroman, Hutchison and possibly Nolin in the rotation by June/July, it's come much earlier. Nolin's been injured for a good part of the 1st half, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

This is huge for the organization.

These leagues that kids are playing in ought to be investigated. Their arms are being abused. I know lots of leagues have pitch counts for a kid, but if he throws every weekend for an extended period of time in the league and the goes to the showcases and keeps throwing all year... The arm doesn't get any rest. It's a travesty that these parents and leagues are letting this happen.

I destroyed my arm when I was 15. There were inning limits per month but I played for 4 different teams over the summer. My arm was rubber by September and I never hit 80mph again.

the worst part is that it is a lot better than it used to be. all teams at every level used to use players like bic lighters. when it runs out of fuel you throw it away and abuse another one. look at how many pitches guys used to throw in the majors. it's come a long way, but still it's abusive at times.

Leave some runs for the next 2 games. They scored 4 runs in the last 2 games in Cincy after the 14-run explosion.

I hope the jays put up another 6 runs...make those pitchers work.

there are a lot of leagues that dont have a proper governing body.

Asian teams do everything more and they start at a very young age. repetition and fundamentals are beaten into them from the day they start playing organized ball.

The thing with Japan though, they make sure the kids are repeating their deliveries and throwing fundamentally sound before they get thrown Into the ground. Not sure if their leagues are year round either
