He must've banged someone in or associated with the front office. This is the only explanation.

Now the only question is: who did he bang and why did it result in him being stuck in baseball purgatory.

Guy works his tail off and actually puts up good numbers at each level.

FO gives up on him after 1 inning.

Real good message to send to all of the young guys we just signed.

Im drunk btw so apologies if im not making sense <3

Should we just send Nolin to Japan now or wait for the curse to take full effect...

Drabek hasn't been moved to the pen.

Here's what's confusing people: The Bisons' Wednesday game was suspended partway through and continued on Thursday. Drabek entered the game as a reliever on Thursday but was really just getting his regular starter work as it was his day to pitch. Five standard innings that just happened to be scored as a relief outing.

Since when?

Saw it in a Ben Wagner tweet. Esmil Rogers to start and drabek to follow from the pen

Edit: seen northof49's post, I was wrong

This is probably my biggest complaint with AA, using org filler like hendricks, when you have good young talent knocking on the door to the show. I would much rather see kids like Nolin/Sanchez thrown into the fire, and even struggle a bit, than watch washed up AAA players earn a paycheck for a week. The argument for service clock always comes up with GM's like alex, which is one of his flaws in my opinion, but Liam had his shot, clearly his stuff doesn't cut it as he's been crushed in 3 starts (2 was enough). Why not give a guy like Nolin a longer look, see what you might potentially have for the future?

I don't know. Last year we only had AAA org filler to go and this year Stroman has gotten the call. Hendricks is like 25? i think. Nolin has been hurt and Sanchez was struggling in AA. I think we might see Drabek get a shot sometime this year though.

Edit: Just looked at Drabek numbers this year in AAA. Not so sure now.... lol.

Honestly, I think Drabek is done as a starter, maybe he can throw out of the bullpen with some success, but I don't think he will ever be a successful starter. I love how the Braves handle their young pitchers, using the kids as spot starters and relievers instead of AAA filler. I remember when Redmond was with the Braves minor league system, yet kids like Tehran, Delgado got the call ahead of him, and rightfully so, even though Redmond was putting up good numbers.

I don't know man, but it seems to me you haven't been following the minors. Nolin was injured earlier in the season, missed 3 weeks, came back in early June and was injured again recently. He also had a groin injury last year to start the year.

I really don't see much wrong with giving Hendriks a shot, he's been pretty good at AAA and is like 25 so I don't see the issue.

Sanchez has been bad, I don't think it makes much sense to call him up to MLB when he didn't even earn his promotion to AAA.

I've been beating the Drabek-to-bullpen drum for months.

If McGowan can succeed in the pen, Drabek can.

i remember when he traded the doctor away for those 3 young fellas that people were going crazy about. now these young fellas are old pups and they have not done anything at the pro level. it goes to show you that prospects should not be counted on to contribute but used to obtain assets.

Assets that were once top prospects themselves?

Drabek should be given one more chance at a starting gig

He's been improving the last month or so... walk rate is down

Depending on how he does going forward, if a starter goes down for extended period, he should get a shot

IDK if the movement of his stuff isn't the same but it seems like he's a lot more hittable then seasons past. I'm still rooting for him and that unhittable curve

Don't be dumn. Top prospects are always assets.

Nolin will and should get a chance at some point this year. Not worried about that. Calling him up for one start from Double-A to get bombed and burried in the depth chart still doesn't make sense to me. Injuries appear to be the only thing slowing him now.

Problem with Nolin is he keeps injuring his groin. He's injured for the 2nd time this year. He also had a groin issue to start 2013. s***** timing I guess, but it is what it is.

of course they are assets, but they are basically junk bonds and should be treated as so. since the jays dont know how to develop their own talent it is in their best interest to trade these junk bonds for proven assets with a track record. thanks.
