Jays: Mark Buehrle continued his surprising resurgence Tuesday, allowing four runs - three earned - in 6 2-3 innings to win his fifth straight decision in a 9-6 victory over Tampa Bay. The Blue Jays averaged 5.9 runs with a .309 average over a 10-game stretch before failing to score at least two runs for the first time since April 25 in Friday's 6-1 loss. Juan Francisco and Adam Lind went a combined 6 for 9 with four doubles and six RBIs for Toronto, which set a team record when the first eight batters reached base off rookie Aaron Brooks. Royals: Guthrie allowed one run with a season-high five strikeouts over six innings in Tuesday's 3-0 home loss to Houston, leaving him on the verge of a career high-tying 10th consecutive start without a win. It was a losing record for the Royals in May at 12-17, but at least it was an improvement over 2013. A year ago the Royals stumbled through May with an 8-20 record. They ended the month mired in fifth place in the AL Central with a 22-30 record, and May got the blame as the anchor that ultimately sank the Royals' Wild Card hopes. It was their only losing month of the season. The Royals have a pair of other hot bats with Alex Gordon batting .364 during a nine-game hitting streak and Lorenzo Cain going 12 for 25 with six RBIs in his last six. Cain should return to the lineup after being rested Saturday. Caper Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Nice looking lineup. I would love to see it with Rasmus in though.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Buehrle going for his 10th win of the season.
Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Nice looking lineup. I would love to see it with Rasmus in though. We seem to win a lot of games with Navarro catching I noticed, but I haven't checked it out lately. Looking forward to the usual Kratz is our best catcher, Navarro is fat, Lawrie has a bad approach, and Buehrle is so lucky posts in the GDT. Or maybe people will get more creative and stop posting this s***.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Buehrle probably gets lucky today, Navarro is fat, hopefully Lawrie has a better approach and we should be starting Eric Kratz today. I'm lacking creativity today.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 The royals lineup isn't that bad, ours is obviously much better though.
43211234 Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Guthrie is a borderline scrub. Hopefully he forgot to bring his Mormon magic underwear that lets him always outperform his peripherals.

Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Have to win today against a below average pitcher, cannot lose 3 of 4 to the friggin royals at home.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Have to win today against a below average pitcher, cannot lose 3 of 4 to the friggin royals at home. Of course we can; haven't you heard? We won 9 in a row.
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Of course we can; haven't you heard? We won 9 in a row. Meh, we won 11 last year, have to keep playing good ball and no losing series at home to teams like the royals if we want to be taken serious.
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Man Zaun's suit... so pretty. Zaun is trying to be the Don Cherry of baseball.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 MB has 11 starts already this year, Jays have won 10 of those. Crazy stuff.
HASHTAGYOLOSWAG Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Just mercied a team 11-0 in slo pitch tournament.

IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Man Zaun's suit... so pretty. Different stroke I guess - I think it's pretty loud/ugly. Zaun can have a nice yet unique TV personality however when I see him on air I can help but feel (and I can be wrong) he is borrowing Cherry's personality. Also, I am glad I only have to hear the "It's Sunday, can you smell the roast" phrase. I understand idea behind the segment but that saying gets old very quickly and to have to hear it every Sunday till the end of the season is going to be hard. Just do the roast without that phrase to end it and it will be a lot better.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Zaun is trying to be the Don Cherry of baseball. Seems this way to me too.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Seems this way to me too. So picky Trin
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Zaun is trying to be the Don Cherry of baseball. I was saying this last year. I don't mind... could use some recognizable baseball faces in this city, whether you agree with him or not.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Just mercied a team 11-0 in slo pitch tournament. My team gets killed by 11 runs every game in slow pitch haha.
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 My fibreop just went out...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 MB has 11 starts already this year, Jays have won 10 of those. Crazy stuff. True, and I like how he goes about his business. He lets the game plan be determined by the catcher and coach while he does his part - execute the pitch. In other word, you tell me what you want done and I will use my skills to get us there. No ego at play at all.
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 f*** Infante is such a nuisance. That was a good pitch.

Just do the roast without that phrase to end it and it will be a lot better. It would be nice if he touched on topics that haven't already been beaten to death by other baseball media for the past 5 years. Sue, international fpdraft would be ideal but it's not like mlb can just push a button and say that's how it is. A lot of negotiating with other pro leagues has to take place. He also didn't mention Korea or Australia as countries that would need to be included. As for his signing bonus whining... Meh. Spoken like a true career backup.
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Great start, lets jump on this scrub early.
