pickoff22 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 First and foremost I realize I am opening myself up to criticism for starting a corny thread, but screw it I'm doing it anyways. So...... What's your all-time favourite Jays moment? I feel as though there will be many things people say that I've forgotten about so looking forward to the reponses. As for me, it was Jimmy Key picking off Otis Nixon in the 1992 WS. As you might tell from my username I'm a big Jimmy Key fan - he was my favourite player and as a kid growing up I was absolutely obsessed with him. I was sooooooo excited to watch him pitch in that game and was very discouraged to see Nixon get on. When he got picked off I absolutely lost it.

So...... lol, it's kind of sad if we've created an environment on this site where someone making a genuine thread about Jays moments has to be wary or afraid of being criticised. As for your thread, I'll go with the cliche and say that the Carter home run is my all-time favorite, but the Delgado 4-homer game, and the Bautista 3-homer game also stand out to me. Morrow's 17 K's of the Rays, and the back-to-back-to-back triples a year or two ago are both up there for me as well. To be honest, last night's walk off might genuinely be of my favorite Jays moments, just because of how it played out, and the context around it.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I enjoyed the hell out of Aaron Hill's steal of home. A bright spot during lean times.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Same as the steal home; but also Aaron Hill's dive into RF to get a flyball - that was crazy. He leaped like Pillar last night; and the ball was running into RF (away from 2B) - can't find the vid cause it's been a while.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Defiantly the 4 homer game by Delgado. I remember the pimp bat flip after the 4th. Guy was a beauty.
shortstop Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 when JPA played his last game for the jays/learned he wasn't gonna be resigned... but seriously, Carter home run in WS...and jays come back win after trailing 10-0 in boston on June 4, 1989 - what a crazy day of baseball and then I watched Hentgen pitch what was likely his last quality start...June 11, 2004 vs Arizona, sat a few rows behind home plate & he through a 5 hitter, 0 runs over 7 Innings...absolute gem & his curve was wicked that day...one of a few who gave him a standing ovation as the jays icon walked to the dugout after the top of the 7th
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Oh also another awesome moment was the Zaun Grandslam Walk-off against Rays. That was crazy too. http://m.mlb.com/video/v3428485/zaun-wins-the-game-with-a-walkoff-grand-slam/?source=MLB&gid=2008_09_06_tbamlb_tormlb_1 And also the 6 run 9th inning comeback ALSO against the Rays 11 - 6 in the 9th for Rays; AND BAM we came back to win 12 - 11 after 3 doubles, a fielder's choice, and a bases loaded walk. So hot. http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070605&content_id=2007772&vkey=recap&c_id=tor&fext=.jsp

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Jp's first game.. he absolutely destroyed and the team as a whole hit 8 home runs. best game I've ever been to. False hope.

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Another good game was when the jays faced the Yankees after arod called "mine" on Howie clark and the ball dropped. The next game we played them, towers intentionally hit arod and the dugouts emptied. Once everything got settled, someone started yelling and everyone came running out again. I was sitting in the 2nd row at 3rd base, and the entire game everyone was chirping arod. crap that was 7 years ago!!!

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 The favorite one is one of my first baseball memories back when I was a kid...the 10-0 comeback at Fenway...Junior Felix inside the park grand slam. The Skydome opens shortly after that and back then that was ultra cool for a kid. I know nothing about Grade 2...all that information has long since been lost...but 1989 baseball memories...still there

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Joe Carter's home run in 93. He was an all-time Blue Jay great - probably the best player in club history because of that hit.

ROFL no. How can anyone say anthing other then carters HR, Alomars HR against Eckersley, or the first WS win? Who cares about morrow k'g 17 in 1 game in a losing season.

The favorite moment to me implies something that you think you would remember more or hold in higher regard compared to the average Jays fan.
