burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Extras in Seattle. You can imagine the Angels are liking this.. they'd love to see the Mariners pen worn, so that the Angels can run up their win total on their way to 100 wins, which is where they're headed. I bet you they don't care.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I don't mind Detroit winning and taking out the Indians. I still see the Tigers winning that division. Beating the Indians and Royals will help the Jays. The harder team to choose who to root for is between Oakland and Seattle. We face Seattle four times, so logically, we should hope Oakland wins the 1st WC and leaves the 2nd WC open for Seattle/Toronto/KC/Cleveland. The only way the Jays can make up ground is if Seattle is the team to catch, since they can control their own destiny next week (assuming they don't s*** the bed in Baltimore and New York before then). Exactly. At this point I think we're better off with Detroit beating the others back and running away with the division rather than run neck and neck.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I'm going to be watching Bluejays baseball over NFL football in September. It's been a long time since ive done that.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 How was the crowd yesterday??
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Looks like it was 31,368? That's disappointing if true.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Looks like it was 31,368? That's disappointing if true. It's almost like people don't want to come out for a make believe contender.

Plus....the casuals should be eating up the fact that we're "only" 4 games back. Yeah, we're not going to make the playoffs, but i would bet a lot of casual fans still think we have a good chance. Plus....it's still fun for me.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Interesting tidbit If I try to type "Chappy" in a post on my phone it autocorrects to "cheaply"

I was expecting bigger walk up crowds this weekend due to the buzz, a bit "false" though it may be.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Indians 2.1% Yankees 1.1%

I think the Jays epic collapse from a comfortable divisional lead back to mediocrity left a sour taste for most casuals.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 My thoughts exactly. I agree that it's a bit disappointing though.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Apparently the ratings on TV are through the roof. Almost 900k for the game against the Cubs Wednesday. I think the fact that it isn't summer anymore has hurt the attendance.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 It was sunny outside and the roof was closed against a non-draw. Pretty clear why it was a small crowd.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Looks like it was 31,368? That's disappointing if true. The Rays never get a big attendance, it's like a curse.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Bad news: The Jays are about to lose.. Good news: Boston leads KC 8-4, so we'll stay 3.5 out(including the assumed loss). And of course, we still have the Mariners/A's game.

Worst part is we dont even play KC, we play Seattle. If they were somehow leading us, that would be preferable.

If they were somehow leading us, that would be preferable. We're 3.5 out because KC will lose that game vs. Cleveland when they finish that inning. And KC has Detroit and Cleveland left, and it's anybody's guess on the White Sox series.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Some things to consider whether the Royals will make it: -Not hitting (.233/.277/.332) in September -Can't beat the Tigers, Indians or Red Sox -Facing Chris Sale in the White Sox series (both of them), and Quintana in the season finale series.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Royals lose! Potentially crushing blow to their playoff hopes losing 3/4 to Boston, especially with their struggles with the Tigers and Indians this season. The White Sox series may be their only hope.

Last week v chicago...the crowd really helped us take the lead with Joey bats bases clearing double. thats the kind of fan support that would really help the team right now, that was fun to watch, and HEAR!
comeon sense Verified Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) Seattle looks like they will lose today ,so now is the time for streaking.....starting in baltimore. Edited September 14, 2014 by comeon sense
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Mariners lose. Now it's time for the Jays to streak.. please beat Baltimore!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 So everything went right in these other games, great We should have gained a game by winning ourselves but we didn't
