I'm trying to pull off 2 trades and I have players that I can't protect, so I'm trying to use them to upgrade.

 

The trade I'm going to propose is: McCullers, Patino, Pearson, Lux, Ruiz and 3rd round for Burnes. Would that be enough?

Each team gets to keep 20, in a 12 team league. But his team is very thin. Those players should all be in his top 20. I also have Bieber that I might be willing to trade for Burnes.

 

What about: Bieber, Abrams, Patino, Pearson, Adell, and a 3rd round for Burnes and Witt Jr?

 

His weakness right now is P and 2nd. He already has Bogaerts for SS. Hoping he likes Abrams for 2nd and Patino, Pearson, and Bieber would be all in his top 7 pitchers currently.

Abrams and Witt aren't on very different timelines

 

Witt will probably debut earlier but he has hit tool risk so he might suck in 2022 in the MLB

 

Marte is a couple of years away

 

I dunno, all the trades you are posting seem to be burning a lot of value and might be kind of forcing the issue

Thanks. Yeah, the reason why I'm using those players is because I can't protect them (aside from Bieber and Abrams), and they'll definitely be taken before I get a chance to draft them. So I'm trying to use them to make upgrades, even if minor.

Can't argue with your approach then. Carlson vs. Adell is relatively close. I'd rather keep McCullers and Patino over Rodon, for the simple reason there must be an issue for the Chisox not to have tendered him.

 

You should be able to keep your 3rd pick in a trade for Witt Jr, and Ruiz might still be there when the pick come up.

I like Ruiz too. I was thinking that if I lose him I'd probably be able to get Melendez. He had a monster year. How do you rate Ruiz versus Melendez?

Thanks the help. One more quick question, if this deal doesn't work out, I'm going to try and get a high draft pick. I would let Adell go unprotected. Right now there's only a few interesting players available. How would you rank Adell, O'Neil Cruz, and Alek Thomas? This is a points league and I'm leaning towards Thomas first.
