Went Tatis, Acuna, Soto and I went with Trout over Mookie. The other guys were surprised at the Trout pick, for some reason.

Where Vlad go?

Posted
Vlad went #27. Took Bregman at #25 thinking Vlad would still be there at #32. Most of the owners are from the US.

Vlad at 27 is an egregious drop. That's a steal and a half, he's literally one launch angle adjustment away from becoming a top 5 offensive contributor for a decade.

Let me guess, I bet multiple pitchers went before him.

Most know what they are doing, some not. 1st two rounds:

Tatis, Acuna, Soto, Trout, Betts, Belly, Freeman, Degrom, Bieber, Turner, Cole, Lindor, Ramirez, Yelich, Harper, Story, Albies, Buehler, Bichette, Giolito, Darvish, Machado, Arenado, Flaherty, Bregman, Robert, Vladdy, Bauer

Darvish is the worst pick of the draft.

Yep, that guy is terrible, and takes up almost the whole damn window to pick. I'll be trading with him.

I'd be champing at the bit for Kyle Tucker or Wander Franco at this point. Mostly Franco. Also maybe Yordan.

Can't believe you didn't take Vlad at 25 when you considered him at 4!!!! Not that Bregman over him is wrong necessarily.

We had a 15 round MiLB draft before the MLB draft.

Trout and Bregman to start your dynasty draft is pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Lineup is stacked - Eloy, Judge, Olson, Altuve, Stanton, Will Smith, Eugenio. Didn't take a pitcher until 10th round - then picked 6 consecutive high K mid rotation types on the younger side.

A good draft strategy I think.

Ohtani (pitching version) for Martin in an 18 team dynasty? Obviously, the homer in me wants him, but is that too steep of a price?

Martin easily for me.

Posted
I'd lean Martin also, but easily? If he pitches anything like he did in his rookie year, it's close.

50 innings, 3 years ago with plenty of injury flags?

I think Martin easily as well.

That's a big if. I hope pOhtani stays healthy, but I've seen enough to not invest anything in that playing out. I just don't trust the arm at all. If I'm holding him in dynasty and someone offers Martin I accept without thinking twice. That obviously changes in leagues where you hold pOhtani and hOhtani and can't separate them.

Have you seen him pitch this spring? Looks incredible, anyhow, that's fine. I'd take the Martin side also.

Fair enough, lets not forget that Martin is an "If" as well. I love owning Ohtani in LOD and am quite elated to see how this plays out.

Has anyone had success in 5x5 leagues? In playing money leagues it seems that’s the only choice for H2H.

The last time I did it I drafted horribly but besides that I was unsure what the best strategy was.

Usually I take P later and I punt SB and SV to boot so it’s not a natural fit

Have #1 waiver priority in redraft points league.

Use it on Andrew Vaughn at start of season, or Kelenic 2-3 weeks in?

You taking Vaughn, Jim?

Posted
Nope, gonna hold on for Kelenic

I figured as much, Gerry usually holds out for the trade deadline, so I might have a chance with Vaughn if he passes.
