Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 If Santos throws another 20 innings as a Jay I'd be shocked. He's done physically and mentally. He can take his option with him. Time to shed payroll heading into 2015. Santos, Rasmus, Morrow.....bye bye. Trade Rasmus, tell the other two to f*** off.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 That Lawrie save there in the 9th won't show up in the box score, but damn... just reflecting on that right now, that was a HUGE STOP. That sails over Francisco's head lol.

awsomest Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Apparently advanced stats says otherwise. Right but you have to remember that save situations have a small margin of error and a guy like santos can definitely make janssen look like a scrub on a given night but Janssen has very little deviation on his performance when a guy like santos can walk a bunch of guys and throw a stinker. Janssen now has several years of 2 war closer ball and that has its value weather you prefer the strikeouts or not.
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Boy did we ever miss Janssen. So glad to see him back healthy looks like hes picking up right where he left off last year. Sure feels good to be 5 games above .500. If only our BP didnt have that horrible 3 week stretch a few weeks back we could have a bit of a cushion. Still, feels good to be in first place. This is a really good ball club. Hopefully we keep rolling.
starfield Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 What a play by Lawrie at the end. I think we lose this one if Coco scores on that throw by Kratz
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Lawrie so valuable at 3B, much more than 2B. Yeah... I like how Gibbons is using our best D in 9th inning situations. Gose was in center there, with Pillar to left. Farrell probably keeps the D as is, or does something retarded like moves Bautista to center.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 lol Tolleson and Pillar won us this one They were instrumental in the victory but you cannot rule out Lawrie's or Encarnacion's contribution. This was another team effort.

In fact all of his peripherals are good. Fantastic K/BB numbers as a reliever. Very solid GB%. Guy gets no respect. If he struck out like 1 or 2 more per 9 innings everyone would be jerking off to him.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Depth chart right there... Man how far Drabek has fallen... Even Hendriks is better lol
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Santos is good. 3.46 xFIP Yeah he was fantastic this year.
awsomest Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Santos is good. 3.46 xFIP what was josh Johnson's xfip?
awsomest Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 what was josh Johnson's xfip? Ok let me clarify I'm a stat's guy but i'm not sure why the stats community can't understand that some high strikeout guys can be stinkers when they are not striking guys out, Alla morrow, santos, Johnson.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Victorino limping off the field.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Victorino limping off the field. 2012 all over again for Boston.. aren't they missing Ellsbury. Wonder if the Red Sox organization is going to start thinking about canning John Farrell if the team continues to struggle. The problems he had with the Jays have returned in the 2nd season with the Red Sox.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 White Sox leading 4-3 on the Yankees on a Alexei Ramirez HR. And shockingly, Noesi might actually get a W, something he hasn't had since 2012 with the Mariners.

Lol way to early, sure I think gibbons is better than Farrell but a world series win in a rebuilding year is a s*** tonne of gravy points
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 If this were Tampa or Toronto, Farrell would have more job security.. do this in Boston or New York and you'll get canned. People want championships in those big cities.

Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 You got a lot of time on your hands bud. Exactly my thoughts. Pathetic. Take a Paxil Spanky and turn out the lights.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Wow....these GDT's are getting worse everyday, errrr win. Dude, what was wrong with mine? i was being f***ing serious.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Cole Figueroa with a walk-off double off Badenhop. Rays win. Red Sox continue to sink. 8 straight losses..
