Jays: Happ yielded four runs and seven hits - two homers - over 2.1 frames of a 5-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday. The Blue Jays have homered in 18 of their 20 home games this season. Overall, Toronto has homered in 19 of its previous 22 games dating back to April 21. The club has outscored its opposition 40-34 over that same span. The Blue Jays allowed 15 runs and 22 hits on Wednesday. It was the first time that's happened since June 24, 2004 against Tampa Bay, when they gave up 19 runs and 24 hits. Indians: Danny Salazar gave up three runs and fanned seven in 6.1 innings while not factoring in a 4-3 win over Minnesota. Cleveland has averaged 6.1 runs and batted .303 while winning six of eight overall. After losing all six to San Francisco and the Los Angeles Angels on their previous trip, the Indians are 3-2 on this six-game trek. The Indians have had their share of inconsistencies on offense this season, but the club remains one of baseball's top teams at controlling the strike zone. Over the past two seasons, Cleveland ranks second to only Tampa Bay in the Majors with a 27.8-percent swing rate at pitches outside the strike zone. Entering Wednesday, the Indians ranked third in the league with 4.01 pitches per plate appearance this year. Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I like our lineup tonight.. starting pitching not so much Salazar 12 K's game for sure
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 It will be interesting. Salazar works up in the zone a lot with his fastball and the jays are pretty unspectacular in general high in zone with their uppercut swing tendencies. Could be a lot of pop-ups and shallow flies tonight... Or they'll rock him out of the game by the third.
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Is anyone watching this JPA interview? Good god what a moron... EDIT: I will give him props for his mea culpa at the end... still an idiot.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Is anyone watching this JPA interview? Good god what a moron... Yep. I agree with Zaun and Campbell. No one ever said anything about his character. They just s*** on his performance.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 lets hope Salazar keeps up his wildness at least for this start . kid is going to be a stud once he gets better command
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Is anyone watching this JPA interview? Good god what a moron... EDIT: I will give him props for his mea culpa at the end... still an idiot. what did he say?
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 what did he say? Blamed the media for misquoting him. Said that they attacked his character. Pretty much all of it was poor me until the end when he admitted that he didn't perform and that's why he is now in Texas. Said overall he liked the organization and the fans.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 what did he say? He knows he hit badly but he got upset when "the switch flipped" and the "media started attacking my character"
kgm1 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 s*** the Indians are helping Happ out big time
