YEs, they will, last nights was a game they should have won. This is a .500 team that cannot seem to get out of its own way.

Actually, if almost any team is around .500 end of June and acquires 1 or 2 players to address their weaknesses, they have a chance to contend. The problem with the Jays is they never think they have a chance unless they are like 8 or 10 games above .500 ( which is kind of like this forum in some regards, everyone downgrades whatever they do ). So most of the last 20 years, the Jays don't add meaningful players mid season, even when lower ranked teams do.

It would be interesting to list the Jays adds/drops of meaningful players mid season the last 10 years versus other teams in their division, and compare.

Agree, hate the Jays front office.

This isn't going to get better, this lineup is going to chew Happ up. The only thing we can pray for is a 10-8 wild shootout win since Skaggs is garbo too.

The key thing is that Happ believes he's good enough. That's all that matters.

His fastball command isn't terrible. He could be useful against lefties out of the bullpen.

Happ thinks meatball fastballs are a good idea over and over?

The homerun was a fastball in a half decent location, but if you're going to throw it as much as Happ does and there isn't a ton of movement or plus velocity to it hitters are going to sit on it and hit even decently placed fastballs hard.
