The 7.5 million for Romero isn't really probative. It just seems that way because of the garbage contracts they've taken on in the meantime and retaining others that should have been traded by now (ie Janssen, Happ)

 

Even if Romero hadn't completely fell off the earth and was a reliable 5th starter, 7.5 million would be a bargain. It's far worse spending the kind of money the Jays have on their bullpen.
