Random variance is random so stop using it as an excuse. I can't tell you the number of times I've heard about "bad luck" when Morrow is pitching (not today though)

Am I the only one who thinks bringing Happ into that situation would have most probably been just as disasterous?

 

 

Ideally, you bring in one of your high-leverage relievers. Since this is not an option managers usually consider, I would've gone to Happ, but a batter earlier. Yes, Happ may have imploded, but he's a better option than Jenkins, not that this says much about him.

 

To be clear, I'm not a Happ fan at all, but I don't get bringing in Jenkins into that situation.

 

To make matters worse, Gibbons just brought in Loup to get out of a jam down by 4. He also let Loup meltdown in Cleveland instead of bringing in Cecil to try to protect the 4-2 lead last Sunday only to bring in Cecil to try and keep them down by only 1 or 2, can't remember.
