This game is half the reason I bought a PS4. Tired of waiting for it!

The only reason I bought a PS3 6-7 years ago was for The Show.

 

Will probably just pick it up for PS3. Not a hardcore gamer so can't justify buying PS4.

Not sure why anyone would buy the MLB 2K franchise when The Show is out there. Is 2K much cheaper?

Only reason I'd get a ps4 would be for this game. I'm going to stick with the 13 for now, since 13 and 14 isn't much different for ps3.

2K 13 was the last of the series. I don't think they were much cheaper, but were available for xbox owners.

PS4 console prices are much more reasonable at launch than the PS3 prices were when it came out. Had to get one. Also have XBOX 360 so I can still play almost anything for now.

That's not that expensive considering I spent way more on my PS3 back in the day.

 

I don't think I'd get enough use out of it though.

Makes sense. My Ps3 was broken for the past year because I knew if i fixed it, id have a hard time justifying buying a PS4. You have no idea how many games im gonna bang off once exams are done next week.

What does the HDMI cable matter? You don't need one. And if you want one just go to Dollarama and pick one up for $2-$3.

 

Unless your connecting to an old TV the supplied composite cable should be tossed directly into trash can.

My PS3 is broken right now, and it's not fixable which pisses me off since I've got so many good games on the PS3 still and I can't play any on the PS4. Likely going to buy a new PS3 if they have them on special on Boxing Day or Black Friday or something since I can't justify spending $250 for a new PS3 system right now which is still very expensive considering the system is like 8 years old.

This game will probably be the reason that I'll buy a PS4 over the Xbox one. Also that smug ******* from Microsoft who pitched the idea of the constant internet connectivity requirement.

Same here regarding my ps4 sitting idle due to a dearth of appealing games. Fifa14 was the only no-brainer for me so far, now waiting for The Show obviously, plus GTA V in June. I cracked and got Dark Souls 2 for my 360 because it looks like it might be a while before they release it on PS4.

Have been playing Titanfall and the newest (mind blowing lay good) DLC for Bioshock Infinite on the XBOX 360. Need some PS4 games to justify it being there.

Assasins Creed IV is pretty must-have. Amazing game. Loved it. Can play on any platform tho.

It doesn't do it for me, and I usually love open-world RPG's. I got bored of it after like an hour, too much button-mashing, feels like the game is playing itself to me. Elder Scrolls and Fallout series are my crack RPG-wise, can't wait for the next installments of those franchises.

Bethesda is my dealer too. I played ~ 200 hours of Oblivion, 200 hours of Fallout 3, and 300 hours of Skyrim. Just addictive as crack, you're right.

 

There's not much RPG ish about AC4, I just loved the pirating.

Yeah I guess, it's RPG-lite I suppose, more of a stealth/action title. I STILL enjoy Skyrim to this day, talk about replay value.

I'd like to get it for PS3 (and get a PS3) but I'm not a huge video game player so I dunno if I'd wanna invest the $300 in it.

Have to second the recommendation for Dark Souls 2 ... I was very used to Demon's Souls and Dark Soul's controls so this took a bit of getting used to but it's much better overall. Need better timing to execute rolls, to parry or backstab. Upgrade paths are much simplified which is fantastic though upgrade materials are rare enough that it's not a walk in the park to get it all done. Lots more balance when it comes to invading and PVP. The lore isn't as good and some of the bosses are lackluster but overall it's a fantastic game.
