fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Not a baseball town lol. Nearly 100 thousand people in 2 days suggest otherwise. Nobody promised the Montreal fans anything. They showed they want a team that nobody cares about in St. Pete, Tampa or whatever the f*** they want to call themselves. Yeah so? It's baseball for the first time in 10 years obviously they had to come into the stadium, I was actually disappointed they didn't sell out. The issue is doing that for 2 days, it's for a whole season. The Rays first day was 30k+ then the second day was s***. This is what baseball would be like in Olympic Stadium too

We're talking about sustainable crowds. A two game gimmick series means nothing. I know like 10 different people from the Maritimes who specifically planned a road trip to Montreal last weekend for that series. They aren't going to draw those crowds on a nightly basis..
RickyWalks Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I liked how Navarro already had managed to throw out a base stealer.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Good/expected play from Zobrist there.

It's 2 days that Baseball was in that warehouse after practically a decade of absence, you bring regular ball back there and people most likely DGAF

Exactly right

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 you have a point but if he does this 4 or 5 times a game without really having the intention of challenging, they should make a rule change. I'm wondering who the f*** is gonna be the next commish The bigger problem will be when there's a play that's pretty obviously the right call, and the manager uses it as an excuse to buy time for a reliever to finish warming up. I do like the idea of a "shot clock" (maybe 1 min though), and perhaps give the umps the ability to disallow a replay if they all feel it's a stall tactic with no merit.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Good swing Goins, nice contact.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Good/expected play from Zobrist there. They've made him full time 2B I gather??
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The f*** is going on with Lind's beard.
theblujay Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Bottom part of our order isn't so inspiring
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 They've made him full time 2B I gather?? I wouldn't know, but the beauty about Zobrist is basically everything that stands about him, including playing everything out there.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Nice, I'll take it. Make this guy work.

They were already doing that before this new rule. Pretend to check on your possibly hurting pitcher, etc...
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Really nice showing from the bottom part of the lineup.
