KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Could this team actually have an incompetent training staff? Is that even a thing in pro sports?
CHRIS Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Could this team actually have an incompetent training staff? Is that even a thing in pro sports? It's not even matter of competence. I have zero formal education in physical training but know that playing Reyes in Montreal when he already had a suspect hamstring was a bad idea. You would almost have to try really, really hard to makes decisions this stupid.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Could this team actually have an incompetent training staff? Is that even a thing in pro sports? So suit comes up to trainer "we need the boys ready for opening day. I don't want excuses. If things don't go well this year... trust me we're all in the same boat... and I mean we won't even be in the boat before long.. It's your job to get these guys healthy, so get them healthy and on the field Opening day. I know things you don't so please.. please... please... get these guys ready and healthy." Would a suit say something like that to a trainer?? It's idiotic. So I think not quite that blatant. But I suspect they ratchet the pressure up...

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Who else is pumped to watch Hutch carve up the Rays tonight? Between this and the Morrow start are the ones I was most pumped about seeing and apparently I have to miss this game so I hope I was bad luck yesterday and we pick up the win. Just hoping for a split in Tbay

Just hoping for a split in Tbay And you know what, those are the ones to watch this year I think most of us have accepted that Morrow and Dickey will likely give us 200 innings of middle-rotation level performance. Morrow, Hutch and McGowan could be anywhere from injured/crap to REALLY good. I'm excited to see how they look over the first few weeks. Gives me something to actually look forward to!

I have always been a huge Morrow Homer so I am hoping he can stay healthy so I can wear my Morrow jersey proudly lol.

Morrow is awesome. Probably my favorite current Blue Jay. It's not his fault he's diabetic and has a harder time staying healthy. I would love a full season of classic Morrow this year.

The_DH Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Does Paul Beeston even own a suit? The question is does he own socks. See if you remember that one.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I want 2010-2011 Morrow. Well, you're getting 2014 Morrow. Whatever that turns out to be!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The question is does he own socks. See if you remember that one. I do. And he showed the reporter that he DID in fact have socks on.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Wilner is such a clown. Just listening to Baseball Central You know your completely delusional when Jeff Blair continuously beats you with logic hahahaha
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Maybe so... But I think it's not over just yet. This team will surprise all of you. You're a breath of fresh air.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The Rays offense is sub par. We're splitting this series with wins tonight and Thursday.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Proof beyond "MUH WRC+ IN AAA"? I'd love to hear how you 100% know this. This.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The Rays offense is sub par. We're splitting this series with wins tonight and Thursday. Yes!!
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Yes!! Morrow and Hutch pitch a couple beauties.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Says the guy who projects Dickey to have a 5+ ERA. 4.5 actually, but 5 wouldn't surprise me. It hurts, but its an unbiased opinion, just like my thoughts on Goins.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Most of the runs they produce are on walks. To keep their offense subdued, DON'T WALK THEM! Remember, they were the #1 team in walks last year.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Everyone needs to stop blaming the WBC for their terrible year.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 These people are probably the same people who told Reyes to run the tightness in his hamstring out. f*** this organization.
theblujay Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Fatcow get on that GDT. We're winning tonight
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Fatcow get on that GDT. We're winning tonight I just got home, what do you think I'm doing

Halladays Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 First time posting hey everyone! I was on the Sportsnet forums for years but now that they have been gone for a while I've come here! About last nights game though, it was dreadful to watch. I couldn't believe the amount of hacks they were taking at the second pitch. I wasn't expecting them to start swinging at the first pitch (even though sometimes thats the only one your gonna get a good chance to make contact on, especially against a guy like price) but they definitely defeated themselves last night. I think the other issues are this team has no identity at the moment, no core, no in-game chemistry. I don't feel like a single thing has changed since last years final game of the season. Thats just where I stand today. The future at least to me doesn't look bright nor dark, but a very uncomfortable grey. Im not of the impression were a play-off team which is disappointing but I didnt drink the kool-aid after last years off-season thank goodness because i'd be more devastated.
