HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I don't think they meant that there would be a future transaction to replace Matt. They meant that because it's not official the transaction is not official.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Michael Taylor PLEASE! "While the precise transaction that will result has yet to be reported, it seems likely that he will ultimately hit the waiver wire." Don't get your hopes up. People just don't know if it's a straight up release or a DFA

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Probably DFA Gives time to trade, option to minors or release DFA according to TSN: http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=447394 "In another roster move, outfielder Matt Tuiasosopo, who was claimed off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks last week, has been designated for assignment."
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Probably DFA Gives time to trade, option to minors or release The plan must be to try to get him to the minors. I don't really see the point of his acquisition otherwise.

BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic here, but I think this is really a good move. He's had some good numbers and would be a good replacement in case of injury.
The_DH Verified Member Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 With Pillar and Gose at Buffalo was it worth the cost of Perez?
flafson Verified Member Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 I honestly wonder how the waivers work. The last comment we had was that he's not going to make the team, what will happen of him is hush hush. A few days go by and what do you know, not only that he was placed on waivers, he also cleared. Sounds like some locked basement that AA has a spare key and he goes there at night when no one is looking.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 So AA acquired a AAA-caliber player to play at AAA. I guess you take your victories where you can.
The_DH Verified Member Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 If the move was to get aaa filler I'd say it was not good. If for a major league 4th of then probably worth it.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 I believe Perez requested release. I want to believe that that is the case. He probably saw the flexibility clusterf*** that is our bullpen and realized that he most likely wasn't going to be part of it (at least at the start) and wanted to go elsewhere.
