jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 If Happ keeps pitching like this, you might get your wish. The Jays are probably already leaning towards McGowan as we speak.. If you're wondering why Wandy Rodriguez is batting, it's due to Pittsburgh choosing not to use the DH, being a Spring Training game and needing to be ready to play games in the NL, where the pitcher bats.
awsomest Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Never been this happy to see a jays pitcher get lit up
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I'll bet no team will take Happ if we DFA him.. we might actually be able to outright him to Buffalo. Not even Texas, who is SO banged up right now and needs a starter, among other things.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Smart idea by Pittsburgh. Wins aren't important, getting ready for the season is. Plus, he goes yard against our #5. Happ might get yanked now.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 LOL WANDY takes Happ deep. http://s3-ec.buzzfed.com/static/imagebuzz/web04/2011/3/24/8/anigif_oh-dear-11909-1300968675-20_preview.gif
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Happ gas-canning again. Good. McGowan should be put in the rotation, and they should just let him pitch until his arm falls off.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Never been this happy to see a jays pitcher get lit up Me too. Time to s*** or get off the pot. He's s***ing. Next. #grossreferences
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Wait a second. Happ gave up a HR to a pitcher? A pitcher we all wanted from the Astros more than we wanted Happ in the first place????

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Happ was once a good pitcher in the Phillies org.. I remember when he fought against AAAA pitcher Brad Mills a few years back. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/TOR/TOR200906270.shtml How the heck did he beat us back in 2009?? How come he turned into flaming garbage?
awsomest Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Rogers or Redmond plz. why? mcGowan is the much better pitcher
jerb Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 John Lott Verified account @LottOnBaseball McGowan third inning: single, GIDP, groundout
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 He never really was that good. 2.90 era in 2009 but a 4.50 xFIP.... Mediocre peripherals We all wanted Wandy R from the Astros instead of Happ. I remember thinking the package he went for seemed reasonable.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Now Wandy is in trouble, giving up a HR, single and BB. And Tuiasosopo just homered off him.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 If only Wandy could stay healthy.. at least he's not the flaming pile of garbage Edison Volquez is on that Pirates team.
fireballW Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 This organization... ugh. Can we get back Butterfield and Arnsberg and get Fasano up here please.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Damn no BB's yet from Happ. Nope just BP.
awsomest Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Damn no BB's yet from Happ. don't worry the jays organization doesn't know the difference anyways all that matters is era
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Damn no BB's yet from Happ. #halffull
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 This organization... ugh. Can we get back Butterfield and Arnsberg and get Fasano up here please. Butterfield Yes. Arnsberg no. From what I heard about him wanting every pitcher to develop a cutter which is hard on arms in the first place the start of all the pitching injuries. I could care less if I saw him again.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Someone put Happ out his misery.. this is getting ridiculous. DL him, DFA him, try to send him to Buffalo, release him, do something!
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 That's 10 hits on Happ.. where's the hook??
fireballW Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Butterfield Yes. Arnsberg no. From what I heard about him wanting every pitcher to develop a cutter which is hard on arms in the first place the start of all the pitching injuries. I could care less if I saw him again. Yep and now our organization makes every pitcher develop a changeup instead because it is easier on their arms. Thank God, it has made a big difference in keeping our pitchers healthy. If a pitching coach can get results from guys like Towers and Chacin, then who really cares if pitchers are even getting hurt? Pitchers all over the league are getting hurt each day. All I know is when Arnsberg was here most of our pitchers continuously seemed to pitch better than I believed they should.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Damn no BB's yet from Happ. You worried the FO will use an acceptable FIP to give him a rotation spot or something?? Don't think you need worry.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 And FINALLY John Gibbons yanks Happ out.. have fun in Buffalo or the unemployment line, where Happ's headed.
fireballW Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Per Lott McGowan in 4th: Done after 62 pitches, 41strikes. 3H, 0R, 0BB, 4K. Sat 92-96 throughout.
fireballW Verified Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Looking increasingly like it could be McGowan. Very, very exciting.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I disagree. Do you disagree based on statistical analysis of McGowan, or do you not like his delivery, his fastball, his change up, his slider, his command? Why exactly don't you think Rogers and Redmond are superior pitchers to McGowan.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Based on today, it's a two-horse race between McGowan and Redmond (although Redmond could be stashed in the bullpen as a long man.)
