It's that time of year again. I'm going with Hutch providing the second most WAR in the rotation after Dickey and Melky leading the team in BA.

Everybody is kindof average, almost mediocre but there are zero injuries to speak of and no one lays a bomb. Jays score 690 runs, give up 671 but out perform pythag to grab the division in a dog fight with 91 wins, lucky as s***. Boston and TB are actually way better but tie with 90 and have to play in for a wild card.

They luck through the playoffs and win the world series. There is nothing different from other years other than luck, no one will know this ofcourse, except maybe some people on this board.

Dickey's numbers correlated with his velocity last year. When he played through injury at the beginning of the year and his velocity was down, his ERA was up...as he got healthy and his velocity improved his ERA droped. His post all start ERA was 3.56. His ERA after the first two months was 3.72.

There were still some big concerns with Dickey in the second half. He better (has to??) keep the K-rates up around 8 per 9 innings if he's going to flirt with a 38% GB rate. The fact that the GB rates got worse over the year is a huge concern for me.

Ridiculous.

I like Spanky's teams chances as much as I like Hosmer to hit 35. That would be an insane amount of line drive home runs (he's need about a 20 FB/HR ratio to hit 35 IMO) I did predict Hosmer for an RBI crown in a similar crazy prediction poll.

Moises Sierra will tear the ball in the Majors come mid May and will force the Jays to put Lawrie at 2B, Bautista in 3B and himself starting in right everyday. Becomes a mix of EE and Bautista to become a Puig-light (minus the speed but the same brain)

Bautista is traded to Arizona in a deal involving a SS, pitcher and Trumbo. Melky gets hurt forcing Sierra into LF...Sierra and Trumbo die in a CF collision, which takes place 10 seconds after Rasmus gets the ball into the infield.

Another bold prediction: Tim Collins records his first MLB save in 2014 and the following day the Hurl runs onto the Rogers Centre field.

What is over under on the date where this becomes impossible?? I'm guessing the Reyes hamstring lingers and this is impossible by the 13th game of the season. I am also guessing one of the other 3 is just going on the DL as Reyes comes back.

Hmmm...like April 20th? lol

This is "bold predictions," not "bat-s*** crazy predictions"

If that doggy character hunts down everyone who originated from the MLB board, ties them up and takes away their computers, it might happen.

It's good to see you still able to post. I thought that, perhaps, being run over by the Ricky Romero bandwagon may have left some debilitating injuries. I see there's a bit of dain bramage, but at least you're still functioning at a normal homer level. So you've got that going for you, which is nice.

In reality, I think the Jays will settle comfortably into that lower level above the Stros, and Twins, as a non-contender ... with teams like the ChiSox. It's getting a bit trickier to predict who will be down there with them, as a bunch of those teams have appeared to up their game this offseason. But this is the bold prediction thread, so I predicted a boldly lesser performance than their realistic non-contending performance.

Moogy bites the big one trying to forecast the Jays season.

The prediction I was responding to was Lawrie/Rasmus/Bautista/Reyes play 150 games.

It was impossible by mid april. It is now impossible for Reyes or Rasmus to play 150 games. Lawrie would need perfect health the rest of the way. Bautista hasn't missed a game and is hitting like it's 2011.

Hutch has been as most predicted, as has Dickey. Buerhle is Bob Welch (old timers will remember).

The most pleasant surprise is that the team is reasonable resilient to injury as constructed right now.

If a catcher goes down there are still 2 left.

If an outfielder goes down Gose provides some D.

Lawrie at second means If Reyes or Lawrie goes down only need one no-hit all-d middle infielder.

If a slugger goes down there are still 2 left. One can be DH'd and let Gose provide D in the outfield.

If a shitballer goes down.. oh well. There is some other shitballer Hendricks who looks he can shitball.

If a young 23 year old pitcher goes down, there are 2, so we still have 1.

If both diabetics fall out of the rotation... were we really counting on the diabetics?? Between shitballers and 23 year olds we got it covered?

-Rasmus hits 35+ HR

-Dickey pitches 10+ complete games

-Tomo Ohka get called up during the season

-At least 5 different players start a game at 2b for the Jays this year

-At least different 13 pitchers start a game for the Jays

-Lind puts up an OBP above .290 v left handed pitching

I didn't realize this was a necro'd thread and this made me sad and a bit creeped out...

f***, I miss Kirk.

I read thru the thread and saw Kirk,s predictions. When I read the Tomo Ohka part it just hit me. It was just so Kirksaw. I have been reading posts like that for over 10 years. I just wish Kirk could have got to see this version of the Jays.

It's a crime that Kirk didn't get to watch a contending, Arencibia-less version of the Jays. Ugh.

King will go a month without posting here.

Bold, not impossible.

Although I did that once so anything is possible.

Lawrie gets more than 600 PA's...but at a sub 100 wRC+, not all that bold but I'll throw an arrest in there too.

Jays are the biggest buyer at the trade deadline

Mark Buehrle has his first season ending prior to the All-Star break

AA is called a genius by the media

Jays win 40 games through 70 games...then another 40 through their last 92.

right on pace for 40 of their first 70 games. AA is back as darling of the media. Lawrie is healthy and sitting sub 100 wRC.

Jays fans can only hope that I'm wrong on the rest
