G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Gave up a lot of solid contact that inning
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 You don't manage spring training games based on the score... Exactly. Gibby wanted to see how he handled it with no real Win/Loss on the line. And probably wanted him to reach 80 pitches or whatever they had in mind, no matter the results.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Gave up a lot of solid contact that inning Yup, and none up until then. Baseball is such a funny game when it comes to sequencing
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Redmond seemed to run out of gas, pitches were running over the middle of the plate instead of where Thole was set up. It's all part of building up the pitch count, he's gotta go through it to be able to throw more pitches in his next outing. He is what he is, a #5 or spot starter/long reliever. Hopefully they keep him or some team trades for him as SP depth.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Bautista has a home run every 12.2 at bats from 2010-2013 (best in baseball) FFS that's impressive. Stay healthy my friend.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Everyone and their grandmothers know Redmond has a 70-80 pitch ceiling before he starts getting lit up. We saw it last year and this year will be no different. Rogers has the ability to be effective for a longer period. Redmond long man, Rogers starts and send Happ down.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I lol'd, I seriously have to see that movie for shits and giggles. After all this discussion, yes you do. Download and watch some night you're home.

Happ may crapp if they ask him accept a minor league assignment
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Regular season game I think he takes him out 2-3 batters ago Prob wanted him to hit planned pitch count True, i was thinking the same thing.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 You don't manage spring training games based on the score... True, but you have to consider having the player leave on a positive note with good numbers to support the feeling, thus building on his next outing.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 EE's a beast! Even when he chops it in to the dirt it's hit hard enough to get out for a base hit
Jays Verified Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Nice job by Edwin to aim that double.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Want to see Rasmus making good contact Good things happen when he does
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Happ may crapp if they ask him accept a minor league assignment I think he needs to go down and work on his command. He'll in all likelyhood be back at some point.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 2 RBI hard hit ball up the middle from Rasmus LOVE
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I guess the Tigers are going to sign Drew to a 1 year deal it seems, f***ing Jays. Sez who?
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Happ isn't going to except a demotion, the Jays need to trade him to an NL club and get something for him. they can throw him in the bullpen...he can't reject going to the pen.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Sez my speculation, lol New Player Note Fri, Mar 21 John Lowe of the Detroit Free Press reports that Stephen Drew is willing to sign a one-year contract with the Tigers. Advice: The Tigers traded for Andrew Romine Friday and are said to be willing to pair him with either Danny Worth or Hernan Perez as they look to replace Jose Iglesias (shins). However, it's hard not to see Drew piquing their interest on a one-year deal, as he can bridge the gap for a season before Iglesias returns next year. Drew, who would cost the Tigers their first-round pick, would likely want at least $14.1 million after declining the Red Sox' qualifying offer. More: Detroit Free Press (Rotoworld.com) I don't know why the tigers would offer more than 1 for 10....nobody else is stepping up to sign drew.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I read on MLBtr that Drew wants to wait till after opening day so there is no QO for next year.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 You guys see Trumbo's play this morning in Australia? Hahaha.........just brutal. Play(s) haha: Climbed the wall on a catchable fly ball, led to a double. Made up for it throwing out Kershaw trying to turn a single into a double Then erases it by diving and completely misses a fly ball off of A-Gon's bat leading to a double lol
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 He'd have to wait until after the rule 4 draft, your talking July. Nope. If he signs after Opening Day, he would not be subject to a QO next off season, but the team that signs him would still forfeit a draft pick in the upcoming draft.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I read on MLBtr that Drew wants to wait till after opening day so there is no QO for next year. As crazy as that idea seemed a month ago, Drew and Morales might as well do just that now.

Yup, only about a week till OD, unless they get multi-year contract offers for what the were looking for, they'll just wait till after OD so they're not subject to a QO next off season.

markdavo4 Verified Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 na - what he do? you mean in the field or something? nevermind - caught up on someone elses explanation. I need him to field well so he stays in the lineup for fantasy purposes.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 nevermind - caught up on someone elses explanation. I need him to field well so he stays in the lineup for fantasy purposes. It's OK. He'll get to DH when they play in AL parks! Sorry...
