Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 AA's getting scouty whispers in his ear right now - "hey, it worked with Jose Fernandez..." one inning later and he'll change his mind.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Take a long drive out to the country, throw some cookies in the ditch, push him out the door, and then drive away all teary eyed? I,m sure he would love to get DFA,d but I like the fake injury the best . then you can send him to the minors for 30 days for rehab plus his 15 day DL you have 45 days to make a decision . McGowan fits best if not starting then as a high leverage reliever . If they have him as the long man that means future starter .

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 4 scoreless inning for Sanchez against a real TB lineup f*** yes Not getting my hopes up too much but you HAVE to be happy about performances like this.
Jays Verified Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I agree with the guy who said the parody Mike Wilner account doesn't need to exist.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Because rushing Alvarez, Hutch, and Nolin to the big leagues worked out so well for the Blue Jays, eh Mike? alvarez actually pitched pretty well the first season he was brought up. Nolin pitched 1.2 innings and wasn't ready. Hutch looked good but got hurt. He had to spin the ball a lot more than sanchez would though. Sanchez has the plus velocity and wouldn't have to rely as much on his off speed stuff.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 God I hope this spring indicates a rebound season for Lawrie . In fact I need a rebound season from Lawrie , Castro and Alonso to compete in my dynasty league .

Thats his downfall. His swing does look really good this spring though
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 How far do they stretch Sanchez? Might be smart to pull him after 5 while he's feeling good and save some bullets for August/September.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 lawrie and melky were the two guys you needed to see good things out of this spring....the offense is showing some promise.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Anyone know Sanchez,s pitch count thru 5 innings
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Still walking a few still needs to work on command but needless to say he looks like he can be a good ground ball pitchers with swing and miss stuff. If he can keep it around the zone kid will be pretty good.
Caper Verified Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Not to defend the idea more than it deserves, but I am fairly certain Hutch would have gotten hurt needed TJS even if he'd been pitching in the minors... I think that is true as well.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Anyone know Sanchez,s pitch count thru 5 innings 31 pitchers ?
kgm1 Verified Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 31 pitchers ? Gameday isn't accurate . Was hoping they said on the radio
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 31 pitchers ? Gameday isn't correct, he's surely over 60 with the command issues he's had so far, probably 70.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I agree with the guy who said the parody Mike Wilner account doesn't need to exist. LOL I know. I follow both and sometimes after seeing a Wilner tweet I have to deliberately look to see if it's the real or fake one.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 lawrie and melky were the two guys you needed to see good things out of this spring....the offense is showing some promise. For sure. Those guys were the main wild cards to me. And maybe Bautista a little bit but he's been raking. I am comfortably optimistic about the offense.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Time to send Pillar to minor league camp and give our regulars some more PT.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 LottOnBaseball Lots of #BlueJays fans in Port Charlotte and they greet Aaron Sanchez warmly as he leaves after 5.1 IP, 0R, 3H, 3 BB, 2 K, 72 pitches (41 strikes) 57%

His swing does look really good this spring though Yeah Lawrie was hitting like .600 last ST before he got hurt. Part of that is drive I think. Same with Bautista. Some guys start so leisurely and relaxed at the beginning of ST and just ease in to it. Lawrie and Bautista are all business full tilt from day 1 playing like they're in a pennant race. That's just their personality. (And they're both talented of course)
Jays Verified Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I know Sanchez didn't allow any runs and just 3 hits but 2k's 3 bb's in 5.1 IP is a bit concerning. Not that he is ready or anything. I just thought it wasn't as good as some think.

flafson Verified Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 They should give Sanchez a few more games to let hitters adjust to him and then we can see what he's got.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 He's not ready. The guy was unable to throw strikes against minor league players. What if he was Dominican?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Hutch and Rogers and lets get on with the season already.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 What if he was Dominican? Edinson Volquez (Mr Stuff)
