Watch JPA have a decent series against the Jays and AA jump on the phone offering something to reacquire him since he seems to be in the get back the old players we used to have who sucked while here kick.

Try losing 14 players to the DL, 6 position players and 8 pitchers (4 SP, 4 RP), and we'll see whose depth is worse. Their current roster makes Toronto look good.

but I seriously don't think some people could take it.

I would spontaneously combust.

Leave Matt alone King.

Agreed. It's pretty f***ing sad that people around here feel the need to poke at this kid.

Also - it wouldn't be a JPA thread without a Matt Harvey mention. Guy is as happy as can be!

Good for Matt and JP!

One day this guy will bust a nut when JP joins him in the stands.

The best thing that could happen to this board is JPA being MVP caliber from here on out.

Heads would literally ... yes, literally ... explode.

Granted, I think he's a talentless toolbag (his douchiness fit into the Jays' current roster so nicely), so I'd be dead wrong, along with everyone else ... but I seriously don't think some people could take it.

The board would have a 100% turnover in board member monikers.

If he does that then Joe Buck will remembered as the better broadcaster when talking about the Buck family.

Rangers Designate Carlos Pena For Assignment

By Steve Adams [July 17, 2014 at 4:12pm CDT]

The Rangers announced that they have designated first baseman Carlos Pena for assignment. That move, along with yesterday’s trade of Jason Frasor to the Royals, clears 40-man and 25-man roster spots for Geovany Soto and J.P. Arencibia — both of whom will be added to the big league roster.

The veteran Pena batted .136/.190/.237 in 63 plate appearances for Texas after having his contract selected from Triple-A Round Rock. The 36-year-old had signed a minor league deal with the Rangers, who have lost first basemen Prince Fielder and Mitch Moreland for the season due to injuries.

Soto will be activated from the 60-day disabled list and make his season debut for the Rangers sometime in the team’s upcoming three-game series against the Blue Jays. Arencibia, meanwhile, is a bit of an interesting story. The 28-year-old struggled tremendously with the Rangers earlier this season and was outrighted off the 40-man back in May after clearing waivers. However, he’s now picked up some experience at first base with Round Rock, and as Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports (on Twitter), that’s where the Rangers will use him this time around.

What if he turns into EE-lite now that he doesn't have to concentrate on his defence behind the plate...

The Rangers are doing us a favor.

Mind you this pitching staff is the only one in the league that doesn't know how to get Moises Sierra out every single time he comes to the plate. Could be the same with DaCeeb I guess.

If this team doesn't have enough information about how to get JPA out...

Arencebia has an excellent chance to exact some revenge on his old team and I wouldn't be suprised if he's a big factor in some of these games in this series.

Oh come on! Why so pessimistic? I say he goes O for forever and we all have a good laugh.

With Dickey on the mound it would not surprise me to see JP go deep tonight.

Wouldn't surprise me to see JPA swing 3 times before the ball makes it to the plate, actually...

Seems to be a trend, no matter how bad they were/are, they always hurt us when they come to town...

Wish the like button worked on my phone. Hinske killed us for years... Overbay is another.
