flafson Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Izturis learned not to throw to 2B, haha.
Jim_Ackers_balls Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 That package is $36 a month MLB.TV has a better package that works out to less a month and a much crisper picture with better options (i.e. syncing the radio broadcast with the video so you don't have to listen to Buck Martinez). You'll need unlimited bandwidth though if you streaming a lot. V-Media offers that.

If you have a nice big screen tv and follow multiple sports it's a no brainer.

Jim_Ackers_balls Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Ouch. Astros broadcasting crew taking a shot at the Big O and Expos fans.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Dickey's knuckler great in the first inning, not quite as great in the 2nd
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I don't think Getz makes that play...lol
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Edwin seems to be behind the pitchers so far this spring. I think I remember him looking horrible last spring too early on (not sure what the results were). Guess he just takes a little while to lock in.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Here's former Red Sox pitcher Matt Albers..
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Sierra can't move the runner of course
flafson Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 It's really interesting. I think Sierra and Edwin work out together and they both still seem to be behind pitchers. Bautista and Melky also work together and they seem to be ahead of pitchers.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 how many innings is Dickey going for?
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 nice double play love that goins guy
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Prime example on why Goins starts over Kawasaki or Izturis.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 2) The doubt is in his bat, not his defense Indeed
flafson Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I was waiting for this comment.... Several things 1) Reyes was the one who made the slick play happen, not Goins. All Goins did was receive the ball and throw it to 1B...like every 2B should be able to do. There's literally nothing about that play which could make someone say "Wow! Goins is a stud". 2) The doubt is in his bat, not his defense 1) Reyes started yes, but not many players can receive and finish that throw in time. 2) I know, was just trying to initiate another Goins talk
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I'm gonna miss Davis and his speed.
Jim_Ackers_balls Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Any other doubters about Goins? About what specifically?
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 basketball, raise the basket another 5 feet, then I'll watch it. Such a dumb sport imo.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Goins is a very, very bad hitter. This team can't be serious about running him out there every day. He struck out twice both against tough lefties. Relax.

Given the make up this team what type of offensive numbers would he have to put up to justify a position given the level of defense he plays.

Extended innings is what AA is trying to prevent this year in exchange for a bit of offense. I agree.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Why is Dickey out there for a 5th inning? It's only March 9, Gibby. Calm down.
