jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Hopefully he's been told he's going to be traded and the savings reinvested into the team.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Allow me to put on a tin foil hat... Anyone think he might just be sulking and the team is covering up for him?

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Allow me to put on a tin foil hat... Anyone think he might just be sulking and the team is covering up for him? Could be, especially after AA said there could be 2 spots open in the rotation. Apparently, he wanted to pitch through the pain, but Gibbons decided against it. We'll see what happens, but if Santana is signed, I'd like to think Happ would get dealt.

Happ, Santos and a prospect for???
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Me too. Happ, Santos and a prospect for??? for Ackley?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 for Ackley? Yep I can see Seattle doing that too We would have to send an OF prospect but I'm good with that
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Yep I can see Seattle doing that too We would have to send an OF prospect but I'm good with that I imagine the Jays would have to add a prospect because of Happ and Santos' salaries, but other than that, I'm not sure Ackley should be worth more than that. He has struggled after all and he's out of position, I don't see them having much of a bargaining position.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 for Ackley? I would weep tears of joy if that happened
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Happ seems like he's super high maintenance. Great job there AA.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I would weep tears of joy if that happened So would several posters, lol. I think it could happen as Seattle seems to be thin in the rotation and doesn't have much more money to spend so Happ+ a reliever may not be that far off. I think we see a trade before ST is over.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I don't read anything into this other than Happ is hurt . That may have been what prompted AA to really go after another starter . he has to be healthy to be traded especially with his price . Healthy and pitching decent .

The fact that Santana was now willing to take a 1-year deal is what did it.
Lawrie22 Verified Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I too think this is related to Happ's back no trade, AA and Gibbons and Seietzer for that matter are all very high on Goins and I'm just not sure if they want to get another 2B
Convo Verified Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 With all due respect to Happ, I do hope this means he doesn't make the rotation.

Happ through a hissy fit last year when he wasn't guaranteed a rotation spot. The guy seems like a bit of a diva. They need to trade him if he's going to create problems.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 This is pretty plausible. I've had back spasms to where I could barely move for 3 days, then pretty tender for another 4 or so, and then it loosens up and feels fine.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Happ's a bitch who thinks he warrants an automatic starting spot in the rotation. He's a fringe #5.
Convo Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Where does Happ get his delusions of grandeur from? It's certainly not from his pitching, because the man just flat out sucks at that.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Me too. Happ, Santos and a prospect for??? I wish, but it'll take a top prospect or a lot more to get this done. It is the Mariners though..
