I assume you got an autograph? I've never had the luck to see a player outside of the stadium.

Edit: sorry about the double-post, internet killing me here.

No, we had a few famous athletes come in but I always left them alone about that stuff. Vince Carter came once but he had a bodyguard and wouldn't talk to anyone. His bodyguard shooed away all his fans. Pinball Clemons was a regular in that area too, back when the Wii came out in '06 he was asking me all these questions about it. For some reason it feels surreal talking to a celebrity even though they are just people.

Anyway, another guy who I worked with ran into Roy Halladay at the Sherway Gardens store with his kid, probably the only guy I'd consider asking for an autograph.

You guys just wait till he gets this years MVP just because he is retiring lol. Not to mention an automatic entry in to the all star game even if he is injured for the first half.

Jeter is super healthy. Ellsbury and Gardner have awesome years. Jeter clutch hits them in game after game.

Derek Jeter

.302 .345 .404 12 homers 115 rbi. -3 WAR on defense. 1.5 WAR total. MVP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ryan Goins

.260 .310 .350 5 homers 45 rbi + 3 WAR on defense... 4 WAR total.

Not wanting to get into another Ryan Goins argument... just saying it would be hilarious if Derek Jeter wins MVP but Ryan Goins has more than twice as much WAR.

Does Justice not remember Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Ricky Henderson, Babe Ruth, Roger Hornsby, Albert Pujols, Barry Bonds played in the past half century. I wouldn't even put Jeter in my top 10 of the past 25 years. Great player but huge slight to those who played the game at a higher level. If Ted Williams' head could talk, it would say stfu Justice

I was with you until you listed Barry Bonds and his incredible growing head. The only list he should be on is the one to be taken out back and beaten for being a cheater, both professionally and personally (cheats on his wife and trashes his mistress on the stand, now that's classy). Everyone else on your list, I agree 100% with.

Ya know who's to say Jeter didn't juice? His head got fatter (no homo)... Nobody would have guessed Pettite was on it either, so Jeter isn't 100% out of the question. He avoided injury for a long time, and he's been able to have a very nice career due to staying healthy at a physically demanding position. Just because he never was a big HR guy doesn't mean s***.

For the record, I even think Bautista juiced, so don't say I'm being biased.

I think A-Rod and Bonds were made into the poster boys of steroid usage, and Selig used them to cover his own ass. "Look! I'm cracking down on even the big stars!", but could you imagine if Jeter juicing came out to public? That's their "role model" type. The "face of baseball". They can't afford to have Jeter go down like that because players like him still give hope that there are clean players out there. Jeter's been babied and covered for his entire career. I don't believe for a second he is who the media makes him out to be, and I've heard from several people who actually met him. He lacks personality and is full of himself.

It's ridiculous to make any assumptions about "clean" players.

Yeah. That's my point. I just hate when people say he's "legit". He played the game the "right way". Please. It's all politics. Good player for sure... Not taking anything away from his accomplishments, but the guy had 4 seasons I'd label HOF worthy. He's mostly been a product of longevity, and a press that licked his balls.
