The rule 5 money flip (allowed this signing) and the patient offseason (if he ends up buying some wins!) make me wonder if AA is done being dumb. I guess we'll find out kind of soon.

The Yankees will spend about 10 million in the next 2 July. Many prospects in RD want to be Yankees.

 

Why would a kid want to sign with the Yankees. That only guarantees they will play anywhere but New York.

Why would the Yankees be paying more. I can understand a kid wanting some cash but this sounded more like a team preference. It used to be that Toronto was a favourite place but then Gillick ran the show, Epy Guerrero was THE scout and Beeston was respected by everyone.

I like this a lot. Alex drafted an org guy in rule 5, traded him immediately for slot money which we used to sign a 16 year old intriguing prospect.

Anthopoulos undoubtedly has his shortcomings but stockpiling young, high-upside international talent is certainly not one of them. Five years from now, the handful of these kids that progress are going to be a lot of fun to watch.

 

Edit: On the other hand, until that day comes, watching King fap himself to death over them is going to be excruciating lol

Pretty sure I could only touch 69 at 16. 75 now lol.

 

We still talking about baseball? :P

 

The better pitchers who were on my school team around my age are at 75ish at most.
