I like this one:

9. Intentional walk leaders, 2001-2004:

1. Barry Bonds: 284

2. St. Louis Cardinals: 260

3. Montreal Expos: 252

4. Philadelphia Phillies: 237

5. Arizona Diamondbacks: 232

Unlike Fact #19, this is the top of the leaderboard. Sure, Bonds drew more intentional walks over a span 14 years than eight different teams. But from 2001-2004, Bonds drew more walks than EVERY TEAM.

Or

4. Barry Bonds is the only member of the 500 home runs/500 steals club. He’s also the only member of the 400 home runs/400 steals club.

My favorite is 49.1% of his hits were extra base

JPA was at almost 45% ... of course Bonds in 2004 had more than 3 times as many walks that year as JPA has had in his entire career.

Yeah. Roids or no roids, his stats were still INSANE.

add into the mix that most of the pitchers he faced during his career were juiced as well.

barry bonds

HOF is a joke if those 2 guys dont get put into the front room. baseball has been run by self righteous *******s for too long. too bad things probably wont change in our lifetimes.

question is if future generations will right the wrongs on the last ones.

Likely a HoFer without the juice, averaged 7 war per year for his first 7 years in Pitt. The juice just pushed his numbers into legendary territory.

Bonds is a top 2 player in baseball history. The thought of Bonds not being in the HOF is beyond a joke.

Bonds' plate discipline stats are ridiculous. In 2004, a 8.3 O-Swing% and 4.0 SwStr%. This is what made him such a great hitter: an insane natural ability to discern balls from strikes and to make contact. And he had prodigious natural power, 40+ SB speed in his early years and was a vacuum on D. The best player in baseball over a 25 year period.

Lmao, listen to that crowd in NY in the video. Boy, they sure loved their steroid fueled home runs back then! Seems like being anti-steroid zealots wasn't the cool thing to be at the time.

Bonds shouldn't be denied in the HOF because of roids. He was still an amazing player without them.

If a ridiculous number of guys were juicing, how come none of them came close to touching Bonds? That's what I want to know. They didn't make Bonds what he was, he's as close to a one man team that we are ever going to see.

I dunno, I'm sure he'd be legendary regardless. Maybe legendary-er.

Its really fun looking back at Bond's stats. I do it often and wish I could have watched him play during his prime. Crazy in just about every facet of the game.

Juice can't make you understand the zone so completely.

Collusion 101. Coming off a 2007 season of wRC+ 146 (456 OBP) Not a single AL team wanted to sign him as a DH? lol Selig really hates those PED's guys.

He had an OBP of .480 that year, not .456!

He probably could've had one of the best offensive seasons of alltime in 2008 if he was a fulltime DH in the AL.

Woops, i was looking at 2006.

Pretty ridiculous that someone like Billy Beane who gets boners for OBP guys didn't give him a look on a 1 year deal.

It's a good question. There were reports on interest there as it seemed like a good fit in many ways. Who know if it was collusion on the part of mlb or a case where Oak offered a deal BB snorted at. Like say $5m/1 year. Neither would surprise me.

Should have been a Blue Jay. Team would have made the playoffs.

Even if you watched him, you still can't wrap your head around it. That whole period in baseball seems like a weird dream. It doesn't seem like it actually happened. Back then new offensive standards seemed to constantly be set. You don't realize your seeing baseball's offensive peak until there's a downturn in offense and you look back and you're like holy s***! Did I actually witness that?

I don't understand the people who are in awe and admiring records set by players using performance-enhancing drugs.

I only see them as cheating the system. I respect the records that were set without the use of them. Seems like I am of the exception on this forum.

That's just the way I feel.

Yep. Barry's insane years and the Sosa/McGuire home run battles may well never be duplicated. It was surreal. And fun to watch, I'll admit.

All of his competitors were using PED's too. And he was STILL that much better than everybody else. That's why.
