fireballW Verified Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Oh stfu, get off your high horse and remove the broomstick that's up your ass. This type of thinking isn't going away unfortunately. I used to be so frustrated knowing Bonds would not get into the HOF, but it isn't changing so it's hardly worth bothering arguing any more. Most people know that there have been performance enhancing substances around for a long time. They are probably more effective now, but other then that the only thing that really has changed is that the media decided to attack and make a story out of it. I would never take any of that kind of stuff, but I've been around sports more than enough to know how many meatheads there are that will put just about anything into their bodies if they think it will help. That isn't a new mentally and so I have no doubt there was lots of wrongdoings for many generations of baseball. We don't know how much steroids help people hit. I'm sure there are plenty of guys who tarted taking steroids and didn't get better. Offense is down a LOT so it could have something to do with it for sure, but there has almost always been cycles of pitching and hitting eras in baseball. Either way, don't see the big deal. If a guy like Bond's juiced, he did it while most of the league did. Even with help I really doubt anybody else would have the season he had. He was well beyond anyone else in the game and the pitchers and other hitters were mostly doing it too. Just something we have to deal having high and mighty people just pick and choose what players to witch hunt.

FPDIAF your arrogant opinion is not the only opinion allowed. get the f*** over yourself. bring your disagreement all day if you like, but go f*** yourself and the ugly chick you came in with if you are going to attack everyone who doesn't agree with you.

I only go after people who say stupid things and you qualified.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 this all stops as soon as the players and mlb agree to life time bans. first time is 1 year and second time is forever. you have to make the risk far greater than the reward. What about someone like Stroman who just bought the wrong supplement at the store? May as well go all out and issue lifetime bans for DUIs and smoking a little weed too.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I wonder how many druggies/potheads we have on this forum. By reading all this bs defending ARod looks like we have a lot. ARod deserves everything he gets and MORE! Lifetime ban to all cheaters.

Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Since you asked you wouldn't understand even if I did explained. Nice way of defending your absurd moronic point. I'll take that as you can't.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Anyone read the disciplinary letter? Arod's lawyers must be laughing all the way to the bank. The whole argument is nonsensical. Arod is clearly pushing his lawyers to keep going at all costs.

And what does any of those have to do with defending ARod? You must be one of those holy rollers with a stick up their ass that are against a little grass just because it is a bit different and you were always told it was a "bad and dangerous thing" growing up.

I also question why these idiots only seem to have a problem with good players. Worst thing A-Rod has done for himself is be incredibly talented.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 OT: What was the final story with Stromans case? I forget. I know he said supplment or something but i think the league doesnt give info on what its for right? If he really got 50 games for a aupplmenent thats crazy. Isnt it 25 games for speed (amphmns)

Isnt it 25 games for speed (amphmns) It was a chemical that is banned under the minor league drug program but not under the major league one. It was an over-the-counter supplement, Stroman just didn't study his handbook good enough. He wouldn't of had to serve his suspension if he would have been been called up to the majors after he tested.

All AA had to do was add him to the 40 man actually but he stated that he didn't feel comfortable exploiting that loophole. He may have also felt that the hassle of essentially freezing a roster spot wasn't worth it. In the end, Stroman cam back strong and didn't seem to suffer from the lack of game action and AA got to look like a boy scout in the eyes of the league. Win-win.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Oh yeah. Now i remember that. Yes in his case you know its true as they stated that. Meaning he could play mlb If im correct though, under the CBA mlb cant detail the substance a mlb player is suspended for. So the player can freely explain it away how he pleases i believe. ..of course its always inevitably released to the media off the record in a Braun or Melky case but a ml guy like Stroman nobody would care to know truth

Probably the right decision too, or it might have given other prospects close to the majors the idea that they could also get added to the 40 man if they took the wrong supplement. Also gave a pretty nice wake up call to all prospects to watch what they take. Well worth the 50 games from those points of view. How AA has handled Stroman with the 40 man has been very good imo. Too bad he didn't do the same with Nolin, as that was one spot we didn't need to take up yet.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Though they should obviously be aware.. It does seem rather stupid that there isnt a uniformed policy between mlb and milb. Curious what the logic is on that

There are PEDs, drugs of abuse and banned stimulants, each of which contain different punishments and rules. Stroman wouldn't have been able to cover up a PED positive by saying it was a stimulant.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Though they should obviously be aware.. It does seem rather stupid that there isnt a uniformed policy between mlb and milb. Curious what the logic is on that MiLB players don't have a union, so MiLB/MLB can do whatever they want. And MLB players want all the money and rights to themselves so they don't invite the minor leaguers into the MLBPA.

Good thing Red Bull apparently isn't classified as a stimulant.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Oh gotcha. That makes sense Still.. I wonder if the testosterone precursers you buy in GNC (which are illegal in mlb) are labeled as PEDs. They prob are If so, that should be changed (to a lesser suspension). Common sense.. and suprised a union wouldnt be on top of that
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Though they should obviously be aware.. It does seem rather stupid that there isnt a uniformed policy between mlb and milb. Curious what the logic is on that MiLB regulations can be passed unilateraly, MLB regulations have to be ratified by the union so there's no "logic" to it. You can consider the MILB restrictions as what MLB would prefer to have across the board and the MLB regulations as what MLB considers truly important. The rest is benign enough to not be worth the hassle of dealing with the union. That's why no one is going to give Stroman a hard time about this. The team and the player played nice and it's a non-issue now.

Stroman gets that now. pretty stupid to risk a multi million dollar career for some cough syrup just because he was too lazy or too stupid to check with the staff.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 o2cu.. You seem like also the type of guy that resents that these guys get paid so much money to play a game. Is that accurate?
