This is wrong, IMHO.

 

I just don't see what ARod did to deserve over 3 times the length of suspension that everyone else got.

 

I don't like the guy but it just feels wrong to me.

I wonder if this gives the NYY any possible ammo to get out of the deal. Theres usually character clauses in there. A simple suspention wouldnt tip the scales but it look like even the arb is finding him guilty of major s***

I agree. I dislike the man, but he's no bigger a cheater than the rest who used roids. If this is completely without pay, guarantee the MLB did the Yankees a favor. We all know how much they ball lick that franchise.

In principle i would agree without knowing anything..but in fairness, we didnt hear the testimony. I want to hear the reasoning before judging

Yeah that kind of stuff differs than the norm. Even Melkys was much less shady. He was like a kid caught with hand in cookie jar trying to lie his way out.

That said, i think jumping from 50 to 162 plus the PS was a bit extreme. 100 should have been max

I think the rule is that it's only with pay for infractions that occur on the field -- stuff like beaning batters and fights.

 

Now the Yankees can safely go bananas on Tanaka.

I know one of the other claims was that A-Rod was recruiting guys for the clinic. That isnt the norm case

 

I think lying like most of them do is natural and you give them that. I think A-Roda went a bit farther though

And you don't think others "recruit"? Lol. The ball players are all in on this. Canseco isn't the most trustworthy man, but just take a listen to what he said on this issue when he came out with it. At least he had the balls to straight out admit he was a roidhead. It's odd how this was announced right before the Tanaka deadline approaches. You can't convince me that this wasn't a favor. Selig is an embarrassment.

Apparently, the players association can fire the arbitrator. This might actually be in the best interest of the players.

Recruiting and being caught recruiting are two different animals..

they'd be too afraid of the MLBPA consequences and agents boycotting them. If it can get them under the luxury tax for one year it's a huge savings though.

Also i dont think this is any favor to NY. More about Bud's vendetta againt A-Rod and roids. No doubt BS is a douxhebag and misguided in every thought he has on the subject..

 

But i doubt even his successors want to see this guy succeed and get healthy enough to take a run at records.

it goes beyond that. It's also about an opiate of the masses effect. Fans hate drugs, fans hate A-Rod...being against A-Rod is good for baseball.

 

This looks terrible on the league. Selective justice. What a f***ing joke.

 

will the average fan and mainstream media see (or report) it that way?

Well, take rumors for what theyre worth.. But credible sources have said they've explored the possibility a few times over the years. No doubt it would be a bigger dogfight than this one though
