Ex Player Verified Member Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 (edited) LMAO......Germany lost against Macedonia today. At home no less :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOVSgzp4O9s Edited March 31, 2021 by Ex Player
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 World Cup Qualifying is back tonight! Canada vs Aruba 8pm Canada vs Suriname Tuesday 9pm. Doubt we will play our A team tonight, our backups should be able to beat Aruba by multiple goals easily. I'll predict 6-0 with the "B" team. As mentioned the entire Suriname team are Dutch guys who play in the top Dutch +German leagues ...they are 3-0 with a +15 goals difference though this tournament so Canada will be saving the big boys for that game. After we crush that we most likely will play a double leg vs Haiti next week. Then after we crush that we move into the Octagon where we play the bog boys like Mexico, Costa Rica ect. After we crush that we move onto the world cup where we play the real big boys like Germany, Spain, France Then after we crush that i win 30,000$ and i never watch soccer again. Cheers

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Lineups out - Canada is resting every starter. Prediction 6 - 0 Canada.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Canada won 7-0. 23 shots to 0. They brought Davies and David in at the very end of the game (it was 4-0) and they scored 3 quick goals (Davies and David each scored).

K...a much tougher test against Suriname tomorrow at 7 pm Eastern. Canada should win this one, but Suriname only lost to Jamaica 2 to 1 a couple years ago. A win or tie puts them on to stage 2. A 2 game head to head June 12 and June 15th with the winner making it into the final stage Octogan!

For those that don't follow soccer, but are willing to watch for world cup qualifiers, Corbeanu scored on his first touch with the national team against Bermuda this year. He just turned 19 and made plays for Wolves U23 team. He made his premier league debut subbing on against Tottenham a day before he turned 19. He's a pretty exciting young player. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RT9t9eK3do

Best player is probably Sheraldo Becker; RW; Union Berlin. This is a player that gave Alphonso Davies fits in the Bundesliga and can flat out fly...very dangerous attacker. They also have guys like; Ryan Donk, Rideciano Caps, Diego Biseswar and Damil Dankeru. It's a little sad most of Canada does not even know how good this Canadian team is.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 I am going to predict a 3-2 Canada win. All i know for sure is that Spanky will be watching.

Becker's got loads of pace, but he's got a 3 million dollar transfer value and scored 3 in 31 for union Berlin. David scored 13 in 37 for Lille a team that topped PSG for the Ligue 1 title. David scored the title winning goal too. Estaquio played really well this year. So did Larin, who I was actually down on, but he looked so much better in the qualifiers earlier this year albeit against weak opposition. I still think Laryea is the most under rated player on the team. I like him so much. Buchanan and Adekugbe are not a guys to sleep on. So nice to have quality depth at full back. Does Corbeanu get a look? Honestly, it used to be fairly easy to pick out the starting 11. Depressingly easy. We actually have a lot of hard choices. It will be interesting to see who starts. Canada takes a comfortable 3 to 0 win if they play to their capabilities. If they make mistakes or god forbid get a red card, Suriname can definitely take the W.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Here we gooooooo! bit shaky at times through the first 20
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Still 1-0? 4 to 0. Davies and David with all the goals.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 I just finished going through the Haiti team and Suriname is definitely the better team on paper so i'm pretty confident that Canada will move on to the final round of World Cup qualifying which is something i don't believe we have done since the 90's (although could be wrong). Time to jump on the bandwagon fellas. Here comes Canada.

Time to jump on the bandwagon fellas. Here comes Canada. People will worry because we lost 3 to 2 in 19 to them. We had 65% possession that game and made some horrendous defensive plays. Davis and David have grown a lot as players. Estaquio and Laryea, Kennedy and Johnston weren't on that team. The only thing that worries me is the weather for the first game. The rain could be an equalizer. Haiti are a very physical team. We should beat them comfortably imo. If it's one game anything can happen. 2 games is better for Canada, because we're the better team.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 Canada soccer made an appearance on Tim and Friends talking about how this is the best team in Canada's history.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 How are we supposed to watch this game? I can't believe CBC didn't get the game. What the hell is OneSoccer?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 How are we supposed to watch this game? I can't believe CBC didn't get the game. What the hell is OneSoccer? No Canadian Network was willing to pay Canada Soccer money to air all their stuff. This is the future of tier three sport. If the big boys don't want to pay for the CPL, then a company like MediaPro will, and won't sell you the handpicked games the networks want, unless they pay a stupid price.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Canada wins 1-0. Field conditions were terrible so i'm content with the W. Haiti strategy seemed to be try and break Alphonso knees anytime he touched the ball. Super lame.

Haiti strategy seemed to be try and break Alphonso knees anytime he touched the ball. Super lame. That field was only a small step up from playing in the sand on the beach. Truly awful. That and the heat and humidity that felt like 40% was a great equalizer. We'll take the game on Tuesday comfortably.

If the big boys don't want to pay for the CPL, then a company like MediaPro will, and won't sell you the handpicked games the networks want, unless they pay a stupid price. The big networks, TSN and Sportsnet misjudged the Canadian team. I love soccer. I went into the office and the hard core sports fans in the office were talking about watching the Euro 2021 games. These are guys who know nothing about Soccer, but it's a massive tournament and it's on TSN. Canada is going to get by Haiti tomorrow and in September when we are playing the US in the final stage for world cup qualifying it would have drawn very good ratings. As it is, we will probably be able to watch the US game on the US channels. Come Spring of 2022 when Canada is on the verge of qualifying for the world cup facing Jamaica and Costa Rica in March these games will captivate many non traditional soccer fans and the big networks will be missing out because they didn't believe in the team. It's a shame.
