Big day. Getting ready to watch my Baggies. Hopefully Bilic can get the boys across the finish line. Things are getting tight.

 

I'm pumped that concacaf is changing the qualifying. Yes, I truly believe Canada has a shot at 2022. Also hoping to see Davies and Bayern in the Champions league tourney.

 

My friends who are Leeds fans (it's where I live) are very nervous but I think both teams will be alright and make it!

Wigan have gone into administration - they won't be the last.

 

My team are non-league and would go out of business in a month if they had to return to playing but without a crowd.

 

Some very dodgy goings on there Bob...rumoured large bets placed in the far east on them to get relegated. Which they are far more likely to.

 

Agreed re the non league crowds...the irony of course is that you could quite easily fit our usual crowd in and still maintain an adequate social distance!

The Champions League quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will all be held in Lisbon from 12 to 23 August behind closed doors.

 

Got to be honest, not a fan of this. A knockout cup competition just isn't the same without fans.

Another bonus for England with the Euros being delayed by a year - Mason Greenwood has been great this year and will be in the England squad soon. Not sure he'd have made it in without a delay.

 

Arguably we'll have the best depth for forwards in Europe, though of course France are still very strong.

Champions League draw:

 

RB Leipzig vs Atletico Madrid

Atalanta vs Paris St-Germain

Real Madrid or Manchester City vs Lyon or Juventus

Napoli or Barcelona vs Chelsea or Bayern Munich

 

Happy to stick with my original picks of PSG and Man City, but Bayern will likely be helped by the new format and the fact that they've been back playing longer than the other teams.

Unfortunately for England Greenwood won't be enough for England to get by Canada in the world cup. France and England should battle it out for 2nd though, with Germany too.

Man City's 2 year European ban overturned. Massive news - I thought it might be delayed like the various transfer bans, but it's clear we'll now never see a team like them or PSG banned from Europe because of breaking money regulations.

 

Fully expect them to now drop £100m on a CB or 2.

For those who don't know him he's an MLS all star and one of the best players on the best team in MLS (LAFC) and a very key player for Canada. Love his attitude towards the national team. Just 25 years old too, he's been rumored as the next Canadian to go over to Europe.

Pleased Villa stayed up, but shame Leicester couldn’t hold onto a Champions League place. Hopefully they’ll do a Wolves next year and have a good run in the Europa.

I placed a bet at close to 20 to 1 odds ManU would finish 3rd in the PL over the covid break and happy to see that cash today.

 

What do you think of all the Jonathan David to Leeds rumors? Feels like Gent is just trying to get Lille to up their transfer fee offer.

Leeds are going to spend on forwards now that they are back in the PL, and IMO it'd be a perfect move for him. Chance to play every week in the best league in the world.
