Yeah, I agree. I'm just not sure I'd consider him near elite. He's good, and I'd love to have him, but not as good as people are making him out to be imo.

 

I think he's very good, but he's pitched basically every other game for the last five years and he'll make like 8M this season... I don't really think he should have substantial trade value. Small asset at best.

Yunel has indeed been traded to nats.

 

I don't understand this from the A's. They've been chasing Yunel for years and he fits their team well

Escobar has little trade value around MLB, whether some like it or not. This is how AA was able to get him for a reliever (?). The Marlins only took him from the Jays in that infamous trade to avoid having to send more $ to the Jays since the Jays were gonna release him and eat his contract.

 

 

Just to be clear, this doesn't mean I think he's a bad player, but we have to accept his baggage weighs down his legit value.

Of course he could have had his life spared if they put a strikezone on other cars as there is no way he'd hit it. Too Soon?

Yes! Said it in the Ichiro thread, but if they were looking for a backup OF Dirks would be best. Could even mean we may not see Pillar as much! I am loving AA this offseason.
