I don't have an issue with Reyes, the contract doesn't match the output exactly but most don't.

Trading away Reyes and paying some of his contract doesn't make sense when the incumbent is Ryan Goins.

 

It does if you get average production from the middle infield and improve the starting pitching and the pen! As in my 3 team trade I proposed today! We come out ahead! Plus I think we can survive the loss of Reyes offensively ! We get options and time for the rookies to develop if not needed to start the season.

To seattle Desmond, span, Estrada and Jenkins plus up to 6 mill from the Jays.

 

To the Nationals Reyes, Navarro, Pillar, Izturis, Shanchez and Tiajuan plus up to 4 mill from the Jays.

 

To the Jays Clippard,Espinosa, Dom Leone,Bloomquist, Jackson and Kivelhan

 

Looks fair for all involved, money wise and player wise more or less I think! Lol

 

That's an awful trade and even the mention of Taijuan Walker is a killer.. Seattle refuses to trade him. Ditto goes for Span and Sanchez on their respective teams. Plus, Desmond is a free agent after 2015, and isn't worth Walker.

Follow the money and the assets not just for what you see on the surface.But for what they bring and what teams will receive moving forward!

And as for that rookie CF in Washington, Michael Taylor needs more seasoning in AAA(only 52 ABs in AAA last year) plus Span is owed $9M in 2015, plus Washington probably would prefer Taylor (and Goodwin) to be insurance in AAA for 2015, considering they traded prospect Steven Souza Jr. to Tampa. And Sanchez is a major part of Toronto's future.

Zero chance. Ownership has indicated it will not hand out 6-7 year contracts, considering the Yanks already are burdened by several albatross contracts. Plus, nobody will touch him for being a Boras client.. it's very likely he may not sign until February.

In AAA maybe. Besides, Taylor needs more AAA time, as he would get eaten alive in the majors with his high strikeout rate of near 30%. Besides, trading Span would be stupid right now.. until Taylor can prove he can handle AAA pitching, you cannot move Span.

ORLANDO - The Dominican shortstop for the Chicago Cubs Starlin Castro, was arrested Saturday by authorities for questioning by a shooting that left six people injured by bullets in the morning, reported the Dominican police .

 

Colonel James Matthew Slimer , spokesman for the Dominican National Police , said that Castro is being held at the prosecutor's office of Montecristi, northwest of Santo Domingo, where he was interrogated for his alleged involvement in the shooting that took place in a nightclub that city.

 

The police spokesman said that some people close to Castro participated in the shooting , which left six people injured , including one in serious condition.

Montecristi authorities said a man named Jeremiah Martinez was taken to hospital José María Cabral y Baez Santiago seriously injured as a consequence of the lawsuit alleged employees faced mayor of Montecristi with a brother and several bodyguards Castro.

 

Castro , 24, was linked to another incident that ended in gunfire in Santiago two weeks ago, but was not formally investigated by the Dominican authorities. The player held a press conference to clarify who was at the scene , but it had nothing to do with the shooting .

 

The three time All-Star shortstop in the National League signed a seven-year, $ 60.5 million deal with the Cubs in August 2012. Castro is batting .284 with 51 homers and 70 stolen bases in five seasons in the majors.
