It's not entirely on Amaro though. From the original article that Tango is quoting:

None of this coincides with a perfect narrative of the Phillies’ leadership. The Phillies were still managed by Ed Wade through the 2005 season, who had overseen the great drafts from 1998 through 2003. Gillick replaced Wade in 2006, and Amaro replaced Gillick in 2009. One of the great architects of the Phillies’ successful teams was Mike Arbuckle, but he did not depart for the Royals until after 2008. So, one of the people most often credited for the youth movement that eventually took over the NL East by 2007 was also in a leadership position during the worst of the draft failures.

From the article:

The Phillies’ total career WAR among all drafted players from 2004 through 2014 is only 27.8 compared to a league average of 100.0. This is not just league-worst, it is less than half of the second-worst Blue Jays at 60.5.

A quantification of JP Ricciardi's ineptness, mostly. Although a little bit of that is on Alex I suppose. He took over before 2010?

Correct. The results are not solely on Amaro. He didn't help though and it's always fun to poke fun at that jackass.

With the Miley trade most likely going to happen. Can someone give the projected WARs for Boston's rotation and Toronto's rotation? Is Estrada #5 or is Sanchez at this point? I'm not up to date what the team plans to do because I keep hearing Sanchez is starting in the pen.

Estrada. Norris hopefully next in line.

I tried to find your posting for the entire season WAR per position can you repost.

And we all know how it ended for SD.. TJS and never threw a pitch for them. BTW, Josh Johnson is still a free agent..

obviously the turf at the rogers centre destroyed his career...

No, he was wrecked by the Marlins.. he was already a mess when he was traded.

Didn't he have a good second half in the last season with the marlins?

Not sure if mentioned yet but Amaro was offering Byrd in a package that cotains howard and his 60 million over 2 years. How much you wanna bet that jackass is asking for the teams top prospects? How did Amaro ever get a GM job jesus

Well when the team is going nowhere record wise, having young guys in the rotation isn't the worst thing.
