G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Who? Puig, Cutchen, Gomez, Polanco, OT? Those plus Tulo, Stanton, Posey off top of head plus several pitchers but that's not really fair I suppose
43211234 Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 And they are still going to play today! lol what morons. Quite a bit of potential energy waiting to crash in on them. Though I wouldn't expect anything more from people who build on floodplains.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 And we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what the Sox do vs. the O's. Game postponed due to Tropical Storm Arthur. DH tomorrow.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Bah hah. So Buchholz is garbage. Then he's "hurt" and the Sox are in trouble because of it. Replaced by Workman. Buchholz comes back, and now the Sox are in trouble because of it. Because he might bump Workman from the rote. And now Buchholz is good and Workman is garbage. You're awesome. The gift that keeps on giving. Oh, and you'd rather has the first place team being in first place than the teams which are worse than that team. I love jaysfan2014 and I'm man enough to admit it. Well, Buchholz is healthy now. Workman, however, shouldn't be here. His peripherals stunk in AAA Pawtucket this year. De La Rosa should be up here in that 5th spot, as he was dominating in AAA and the majors. Hopefully Boston realizes this soon. That rotation of Lester, Lackey, Buchholz is decent.. but they need to cut the deadweight of Peavy and get Workman back to AAA and De La Rosa back up here.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Glad we didn't trade for Peavey I guess though I was in favour at the time...

If Peavy is deadweight so is Dickey and Happ.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Yawn. Just another 8 shutout inning gem from Kershaw. Nothing to see here. Wake me when he throws a no hitter or some... Oh wait

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 He really is dominant that its routine now. 36 consecutive scoreless innings and counting
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 DENVER (AP) — Don Mattingly made a rather bold prediction after Clayton Kershaw’s latest masterful performance: His ace will give up another run at some point this season. “I know I’m going out on a limb,” the Los Angeles Dodgers manager joked. Lately, Kershaw has looked that untouchable. The hard-throwing lefty nearly had no-hit stuff against Colorado again, allowing only two singles over eight innings as the Dodgers beat the Rockies 9-0 on Friday night. What’s more, Kershaw (10-2) extended his scoreless streak to 36 innings before being replaced by a pinch hitter in the ninth. Kershaw bottled up the top-hitting team in the majors in nearly matching the no-hitter he threw against the Rockies on June 18 at Dodger Stadium. Kershaw struck out eight and walked one. “You don’t ever want to give up a run,” Kershaw casually said. “I guess that’s the goal.” The nastiness of Kershaw’s slider — the best pitch in baseball, Drew Stubbs labeled it — is fueling his roll.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Felix and Kershaw are pretty much on a different level than the rest of the league right now. Maybe Tanaka as well.

Yes, because the A's have a limited window to win a World Series, as the roster is going to get expensive next year or 2016, and the A's will be forced to rebuild again.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Red Sox/O's tied at 2. Most of the runs have been caused by Boston's 3 errors (Lester, Pedroia, Bogaerts). Stephen Drew finally hit a HR.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Very solid outing by Lester. Now all Boston needs is a run.. still 2-2 in the 8th.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Well, it didn't work out for Boston in the 8th.. but they have Uehara pitching the 9th, so a good chance for Boston to win it in the bottom of the 9th.. and they still have Ortiz, Betts, and Gomes on the bench..
