Mariners rotation when healthy

Felix Hernandez

Hisashi Iwakuma

Erasamo Ramirez

Taijuan Walker

James Paxton

That's filthy. Their offense can also hold their own. They could make a surprise run this year.

I agree but the one thing their team could really use to help them is a Jose Bautista type player haha

I was alone last year thinking this team has a future, i know it's only 3 games but we'll see. All their signings minus cano are pretty risk free and they should have lots of money when they are ready.

I wouldn't really call it a "surprise run". They made like 5 big FA signings

bonifacio went 5 for 7 with 2 stolen bases

Posted in another thread, said Bonifacio is closing in on his hit total for all of last year.

Unblinded by the hot start, the Mariners still have a lot of no namers in their order. I feel doubtful they can compete against Oakland and Texas. They may sneak into the wildcard but it will mean some young players like Miller and Almonte stepping into their own. They have amazing pitching though, it might just carry them.

No you weren't alone. I made a thread and all then got taken to task lol. Too much tools that haven't turn to production. We'll see if this is finally the year.

Very few people then. I still don't think they will make the playoffs, but they are only a few moves away. They have the trade pieces, money and prospects to do so. Might slip in in the west stinks.

Hank the Dog is gonna get put down sooner or later if he keeps up with s*** like this:

Btw how do you put in images within a post? Whenever I try it, it always tells me my file is too large. But y'all have bigger images! It's not fair! :(

Always post from the URL and always uncheck the checkbox.

Michael Taylor cleared waivers. I would have liked the team to claim him and tell Sierra to GTFO.

Sierra was a steaming pile of dogshit last night. I wonder what the score would have been with Lind in the lineup instead.

Last year he had pretty good coverage of the strike zone and the ability to fight off tough pitches, plus lay off s***** ones.

Last night he looked like Kelly Johnson versus James Shields, or Rajai Davis against a slider...

Mets s***** bullpen just blew a good start by Wheeler. Nationals just killing them in the 7th

To be fair, Wheeler left the game losing 3-2. Jordan Zimmerman being sick pretty much ruined my afternoon, was really looking forward to that pitching matchup.

Ventura and Sanchez rained out too, nonsense all around.

So I just did a correlation between 2014 framing numbers from BP and Brooks and 2013 framing numbers. There were 42 catchers in the sample. Max framing chances from 2014 was 196 (Ruiz) and min was 40 (Buck). 3 GAMES! I compared the added strikes/chance of the two sets (2013 and 2014).

Can anyone guess the correlation (R^2) after just 3 games?!?!

Negative zucchini?

So this means that pitch framing is extremely consistent and not subject to a lot of variation throughout the year correct?

Aaron Sanchez dealing tonight. Goose egg through 5 with 5 k's and 2 walks, 1 hit allowed.

Scout on twitter said he went "97 on the black, 97 on the black, hammer curve" to strikeout Gary Sanchez. Felt sorry for Gary.

Juiced gun? Is he normally consistently that high?

It would be the scout's own gun, so it wouldn't be hot. He's saying Sanchez has been 96-98 with heavy sink all night.

Pretty sure he threw that hard last year, more or less.
