Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Maybe isntead of singing back Morales, Mariners will sign Napoli
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 The Mariners are still in pursuit of Choo and Napoli has received an offer from a team that Bosten will need to match or beat. That team could very well be the Mariners. Also they are still in on Price as per MLB Trade Rumors. Looks like the West is going to be a dogfight if the Mariners load up.

If they do sign them, They certainly could help us fill our second base hole. Actually I wouldn't mind taking a flier on Smoak either.
Maine Jays Verified Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I was thinking just the opposite if we have any real desire whatsoever to go after Tanaka (if he's posted that is).
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 All I know is that the emergence of Seattle will make the West that much more competitive and will help prevent a team running away with a WC. The Central might be a sneaky f*** of a division this year for one of thos WC spots.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 The Rays are going to sell Price to the Mariners for an absolutely massive haul here.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Jim Bowden of ESPN and MLB Network Radio tweets that Cano receives a full no-trade clause as part of his deal.

Miller SS Ackley OF Cano 2B Choo OF Napoli DH Seager 3B Saunders OF Montero/Smoak 1B Zunino C Felix Iwakuma Price Colon Paxton/Ramirez That will be a solid team for the next 2 years and then they have 75 million commited to three players if they resign Price, Iwakuma probably wont be as effective and Choo/Cano are only going to go downhill
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 The Rays are going to sell Price to the Mariners for an absolutely massive haul here. Yeah, this scares the crap out of me (although until that haul starts impacting at the major league level it'll be nice having Price outside the division).

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Bob Nightengale @BNightengale 4m The #Yankees were willing to go to $175 million over 7 years, but last official offer was $160 million. Cano gets cool $80 million more
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Watch Cano immediately morph into a 2-WAR guy now that he's signed his last contract.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 These multiple threads with one discussing the possible deal then one announcing the real deal are getting annoying Should I clean up or just leave it??
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 We should sell some of our players for the Mariners farm. Dickey would look great back in Seattle in the big park, pitching behind Felix. They want Morrow back? Take him! Edwin and Reyes for some more offence.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Watch Cano immediately morph into a 2-WAR guy now that he's signed his last contract. GeetinPaid sometimes = GettinLazy
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Mariners To Sign Robinson Cano By Steve Adams [December 6, 2013 at 12:34pm CST] 12:34pm: For what it's worth, the Mariners have released the following statement: “We are not able to confirm any news regarding Robinson Cano at this time. If and when an agreement is completed and finalized, we will announce.”

The Central might be a sneaky f*** of a division this year for one of thos WC spots. It's early (stupid early) but I predict: 1. Oakland 2. Seattle 3. Texas 4. LAA 5. Houston That is not a bad division, and Houston will atually be decent in a couple of years
xposbrad Verified Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 We should sign Garza why so we can finish in second to last instead of last in the division?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I waffled on Texas and Seattle there, depends on rest of off season and some luck, and if Fielder stays away from the Texas BBQ http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=ml-rangers&tid=26975

The ALE will be a dogfight and all teams could end up over .500. Wouldn't be surprised if no WC came from the East in 2014.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 At least there is a team (Angels) that has a dimmer future than us.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 At least there is a team (Angels) that has a dimmer future than us. We're not even remotely as bad as them and the Pujols contract.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 At least they have Trout! We have Dickey

Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Fielder's a vegitarian ain't he? Yup. The funny thing is, being a vegetarian can be even worse for you if all you eat is fried foods.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 We're not even remotely as bad as them and the Pujols contract. Do we really have any bad contracts? Maybe Reyes', but his is only for 5 more years. That Pujols contract is going to look bad, maybe even worse then A-rods.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Yup. The funny thing is, being a vegetarian can be even worse for you if all you eat is fried foods. And donuts.
