Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 That's a good pickup for the Royals. I really do like Aoki
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Aoki >>>>>>>>>> Melky Cecil >>>>>>>>>>Smith
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Nothing wrong with .280/.350 and 20-30 SB. That's a solid leadoff hitter or a great 4th OF.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 What were the Brewers thinking here?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 What were the Brewers thinking here? "We have Khris Davis.....Trade the Japonnesseeeee guy"
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 What were the Brewers thinking here? The Brewers can't compete in that division so they are cashing in an older player.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Guess Beltran isn't going back to KC. If KC want, they could sign Beltran, DH him and trade Butler for a huge package.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Awesome deal for the Royals. Aoki would have been a nice fit in Toronto at that price.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Khris Davis LF, Gomez CF, Braun RF nice trio but...................Aoki is a useful guy
Kelly Gruber Verified Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 If Will Smith is at good at pitching as he is at shooting some b-ball outside the school then the brewers win this trade hands down.
admin Site Manager Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Aoki RF Bautista 3B Lawrie 2B Problem solved.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Aoki RF Bautista 3B Lawrie 2B Problem solved. That would probably give us the worst IF defense in baseball.
admin Site Manager Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I think a full offseason working on 2B Lawrie would be adequate at 2B by the time season rolls around.
Muck Bartinez Verified Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 If Will Smith is at good at pitching as he is at shooting some b-ball outside the school then the brewers win this trade hands down. Actually, in the show he fools around, misses the shot, and then gets beat up by the boom box brigade. Hopefully for the Brewers' sake he is better at pitching than at shooting hoops.
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Wow, great deal for GMDM. On a top-ten list of things not often said, this is comfortably in the top five.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Wow, great deal for GMDM. Wow. Things you never thought you would here BTS say lol.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 The big difference in control makes the trade understandable for Milwaukee. Aoki is a nice piece but isn't first division and only has one year left. Smith is a good young arm and will be cheap for a long time. Ugh I want Will Smith to be flipped to Miami and they will market the team as Big Willie Style
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Am I the only one that loves Will Smith here??? Increased his fastball by 6 MPH over the past 3 years as both a starter and a reliever and has suddenly become a strikeout pitcher. If they give him a chance to start.. I see him as a 140 inning starter with an ERA around 3.75. Wouldn't surprise me to see him as a 2+ WAR pitcher this season. I think it's a very fair deal

But remember that episode where he lights it up for the belair team until Carlton steals the ball to take the final shot???

That episode was the subject of an excellent analysis: http://harvardsportsanalysis.wordpress.com/2011/03/24/calculating-the-fresh-prince-of-bel-air%E2%80%99s-usage-rate-and-what-it-can-tell-us-about-ball-hogs/
